The Mexican and United States governments have agreed to divert some northbound cross-border traffic away from Texas to New Mexico in retaliation for the strict vehicle inspection program implemented by the Lone Star State last month. Some traffic will be diverted to the border crossing between San Jernimo, Chihuahua, and Santa Teresa, New Mexico. The crossing, located about 70 kilometers south of Las Cruces New Mexico's second-largest city and approximately 25 kilometers west of El Paso, Texas, is set to be expanded to cope with increased commercial vehicle traffic.

The final decision to expand the New Mexico border crossing was taken after reaching the conclusion that Mexico couldn't trust Texas as a trade partner.

Texas can't trust Mexico to control their border, never could. Mexico a failed state since 1821.

Smart. Divert traffic hundreds of miles only to go back to Texas. Where will it go in New Mexico? There are more people in Houston than that entire state.

Some will think this is hyperbole.

There was a case many years ago when the US hosted the Olympics, maybe Salt Lake 2002.

A person in wanted to order tickets to attend an event. Went asked where to send the tickets, the person gave an address in New Mexico. The person was then told sorry, these tickets can only be mailed to a US address and not to a foreign country.

The NM resident went round and round with the ticket person whether it was part of the US. I think the phrase "New Mexico, Old Mexico, it doesn't matter" was used. A supervisor was brought into the call, and she too thought New Mexico was a foreign country.

NEWS YOU CAN'T USE

Paul and Cathlynn Groh
of Santa Fe recently saw an advertisement for home delivery of The Wall Street Journal. So Paul emailed the paper's customer support to inquire. Despite its onetime slogan as "The Daily Diary of the American Dream," WSJ responded: "Thank you for your message inquiring about delivery of The Wall Street Journal in New Mexico. ... Please be advised that delivery is only
available in the continental United States." Oh well, we can dream, can't we?

GREAT TEXPECTATIONS

In the waiting room of a doctor's office in Pueblo, Colorado, Dan Dorrance was getting to know a fellow patient. The Texas man wasn't familiar with Dorrance's hometown of Raton. When he explained that Raton was just down the highway, in New Mexico, the man replied, "Oh, is that a big country?"

GRIN AND BEAR IT

During his time in the University of New Mexico's dental hygiene program pre-internet Marty Robertson and his classmates were given an assignment: Write to two states requesting applications for licensure. One student received an unfavorable reply. A return letter flatly stated that applications from outside the country were not accepted.

HAIRY GEOGRAPHY

Larry Hynes
was getting a haircut from his barber in St. George, Utah. As he told the stylist of his plans to build a home in Placitas, New Mexico, another customer interrupted the conversation. "Do you speak the language?" he asked.

Well done Governor Greg Abbot! Great nations enforce their borders. We can't just let everyone who claims they are trying to claim asylum or escape their horrid conditions in their home country. It's beyond clear that President Joe Biden and most Democrats do not care about Texans, middle class Americans, and even legal immigrants.

Right. That's the point. The product, the revenue the tax is coming right back into Texas but now is costing more to divert traffic to New Mexico and right back to Texas.

"It is very true that I threw up my cap for liberty with great ardor, and perfect sincerity, but very soon found the folly of it. A hundred years to come my people will not be fit for liberty. They do not know what it is, unenlightened as they are, and under the influence of a Catholic clergy, a despotism is the proper government for them, but there is no reason why it should not be a wise and virtuous one."

Substitute media for catholic clergy and you have the preface for every Democratic politician biography since 1930.
Seven and three are ten, not only now, but forever. There has never been a time when seven and three were not ten, nor will there ever be a time when they are not ten. Therefore, I have said that the truth of number is incorruptible and common to all who think. — St. Augustine

What great quote! They need another Porfirio Diaz down there. He knew how to keep the Church and the nascent commies at bay, which is actually easier now that they're essentially the same person!
