Very interesting, essentially they are saying they are no longer responsible for content and all content is the responsibility of the person posting it. The takeover is happening....

So no safe places for the snowflakes ………

What will they do if someone is allowed to post now when their report post button doesn't result in a ban……

I joined last month. What is the problem with being responsible (accountable) for posts? I've been accountable my entire life.

If this is a new addition to the TOS, they are admitting to being a publisher (not a platform) before this addition.

I would he surprised if this was a new addition.

This very site has similar language in place. It's like some knowledgeable attorneys all use similar language when drafting these terms of service.

A. Here's hoping Musk can create a section 230 expectation that expands to reign in other content hosting services

B. There's still a place for preferential algorithms - but the user should be free to pick from an open source market where start-ups can create their own filters of what to promote or relegate.

Any modifications to Section 230 that results in more liability to a social media platform will result in more and stricter moderation, not less. There's no way, even on this site, that Brandon is going to take on more responsibility for what some knuckleheads want to post here.

I know I got a note on my Twitter yesterday that TOS was updated and asked me to accept them. I will admit I didn't read through every line of the previous TOS to compare to the current TOS but it certainly seems plausible that something is changing. Perhaps it is a false flag and if so my bad, just seemed very likely timing wise and made sense.

the may have changed some terms, but this wasn't one of them. the change is minimal here. this disclaimer has always been the case, not just for twitter, but likely for all social media.

You might want to reread what you posted and recognize the subtle but big difference in the two.
BMX Bandit
How long do you want to ignore this user?
only difference I see from old terms and whats highlighted in the tweet in the OP is going from:

whether publicly posted or privately transmitted is going from:

All Content, whether publicly posted or privately transmitted, is the sole responsibility...

to

All Content is the sole responsibility...

"essentially they are saying they are no longer not responsible for content and all content is the responsibility of the person posting it" has always been the case, not something new.

So if someone gets in the telephone and spreads some BS, is the phone company responsible for that? Do they need to monitor what people are saying with their service? I think the same should apply to Twitter.

Read the second sentence of what you posted and understand the double meaning of that one sentence. It's glaringly absent in the new one.

Maybe the reason party lines no longer exist is because it essentially became a chat room for deplorables to plot the overthrow of Jimmy Carter.
