After watching that, it's pretty apparent that the Q anon quackery was a psych op. Or, the army is using the same tactics due to its effectiveness.

There are still hundreds of thousands of people (mostly boomers surfing the internet all day) interpreting the most mundane happenings as some sort of secret operation to defeat political enemies.
Surprised they haven't poked their heads out here. They're all over the tigerdroppings thread.

I wasn't aware that special forces recruited. I don't think I have seen special operations out asking people to sign up. That is where the recruiting explanation breaks down - It feels like more to me. Maybe it isn't. But the imagery, the 23rd HQ Special Ops patch in the woods, the burning TV - this feels like a message.

Where's the Q thread when you need it!?

The army has been recruiting hackers.

This one was way, way better than an earlier one:

I guess some marketing firm told them that pretty tomboys are not the best target audience if you want real results.

Agree.

But, that is also kindof the appeal of the video, from a recruiting standpoint, no?

It's still dual purpose, but looking like a threat does make it way more badass.

They're trying to recruit to a cynical generation raised on anti-heroes; it's an appeal to be one of the guys pulling the strings rather than more of a traditional "come serve your country and be one of the good guys."

I'm a reserve PSYOP officer. Us reservists support conventional forces (armor/infantry brigades) and the active duty guys support SOF. The "ghost" alluded to in this is a reference to the "Ghost Army" from WW2- their patch was the ghost with lightning bolts coming from its hand.

The reason this looks so slick is PSYOP companies, in addition to PSYOP qualified soldiers, have multimedia specialists.

You all might be reading a little too deep into this video. It looks like it was designed to illustrate the multi dimensional threat of the modern battlefield overlaid with who our primary adversaries are (Russia, China).

Just my take. But well done video for sure.

For Psyops, honestly, its everyone but us.

The real question is, am I part of "us"?

The people who control the strings hate you so yes you're a target. The idea that anyone thinks this isn't being used domestically is pure delusion.

They have tried psyops on the far right but none of it has worked. Everyone is still there and we flooded Twitter when musk took over. We know the Feds and how they operate, they aren't as good as they think they are. Most of these psyop people are so bad at their jobs.

This reminds me of Cicada 3301.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cicada_3301

Cicada 3301 is a nickname given to an alleged enigmatic organization that posted three sets of puzzles online between 2012 and 2014.[1] The first Internet puzzle started on January 4, 2012, on 4chan and ran for nearly a month. A second round began one year later on January 4, 2013, and then a third round following the confirmation of a fresh clue posted on Twitter on January 4, 2014.[2][3] The third puzzle has yet to be solved. The stated intent was to recruit "intelligent individuals" by presenting a series of puzzles to be solved; no new puzzles were published on January 4, 2015. A new clue was posted on Twitter on January 5, 2016.[4][5] Cicada 3301 posted their last verified OpenPGP-signed message in April 2017, denying the validity of any unsigned puzzle

Def not US Army PSYOP. Army PSYOP cannot be used on US citizens, forces, or Allies. Pretty heavily regulated by the SECDEF since it's such a sensitive issue.

Non US Army, can't speak to that…

Right, just like how the CIA can't be used on US citizens or the NSA cannot monitor US citizens. Since when has the law mattered to the government?

In all seriousness, it's a big deal. Entire careers and lives have been spent on this field of mental manipulation since the dawn of man. With the advent of social media, social engineering became so much easier.

The crazy thing is, none of this is secret. Sociology is the core soft science behind this recent rise of it and very open about it. I realized the dangers of social engineering over a decade ago when I was a psych major and got into the science of advertising. Absolutely blew my mind how premeditated EVERYTHING is. From waking up to falling asleep, the first world individual is absolutely inundated in messaging and it is 100% intentional. We used to mock and deride the soft sciences but in the end, they may be the most powerful sciences in the end...

Engineers/scientists manipulate math and science to bring about amazing change. But who manipulates the STEM folk? Reminds me of the adage of women being the power behind the scenes and ruling from the bed.

It's all honestly very sobering and something that I feel isolated about. I've cared about this stuff for so long but I seem to be the only one in my daily interactions.

When did PSYOP start wearing an SF patch? Up into a few years ago they were separate. SF and PSYOP are not the same thing, both under USASOC but not the same thing at all.
