The lawyer's beef with the Mavs/Arena revolves around the fact that the man the teen left with was admitted using a fake ticket from a company familiar to the Mavs as frequently supplying fake tickets. The lawyer feels they should have known better than to let him into the building in the first place.
They lawyer is going for the biggest pocketbook possible in this situation. That just so happens to be the Mavs.

The dad is to blame. She was missing at HALFTIME. He didn't freak out after 30 mins????

Did he really leave AA Centeronce DPD told him to call NRHPD???? Oh well, my daughter is missing, but at least the Mavs won.....

Did he stop for a beer on the way home too???
What are you seeing that indicates that it's the dad's fault and that he waited forever to report her missing?

Common sense.... Don't leave the arena until you see the video with your own eyes.

Very interesting point brought up by Cuban. This kid is smarter than I ever will be.
Cuban also went in on how Ahmed is the 'big winner' out of all this.

What happens there is the fan shows up with the fake ticket, it scans as fake, and then the fan is standing there wailing about how he got taken by a scalper and just wants to see the game and come on he'll just stand on the concourse and he can't afford another ticket and he's a total MFFL and...

An employee scanning tickets, and even that employee's supervisor, has other work to do and is going to deal with that in the easiest way possible. Which is to just let the fan in the arena.

I would bet in this situation "fake ticket" means "ticket not sold directly by AAC/Mavericks" -- ie. a ticket the guy bought on Stubhub or Vivid Seats.

It's worded in a way that it sounds like the attorney just trying to figure out how to get the Mavericks on the hook for the lawsuit.

Would be little reason for this guy to draw attention to himself trying to convince the ticket scanner / box office just to "let him in" when he's planning on trying to leave with his groomed target. He'd just buy a ticket online from Stubhub for $10 and have it sent to a burner email.

This. For big companies its less expensive and less costly from a PR perspective to settle with an NDA attached than to drag it out in court.

Lawyers know this.

Will be a quick payday for the fam regardless of who is actually at fault.

That is incredibly messed up, even for Dallas PD standards. I thought this kind of thing is what Amber alerts for? A minor goes missing in a stadium full of people and the police on site tell him to go home and report it to his town's pd? Without even getting a picture?

If this is true then someone needs to lose their job over this, at minimum. I thought if nothing else, a missing child would be taken seriously. It's not like she was there with friends and might have wondered off to a bar down the street.

Definitely grimes online and was a planned meetup.

In following the story a few weeks ago, a simple google search brought up the same girl was the topic of another manhunt last year. She and a friend ran away and were found. Evidently they were with a trafficker then as well.
Troubled young lady, obviously.
Missed this, possibly the dad knew it was probably a runaway situation and not abduction?

They don't. From a friend who works with groups to help spot, prevent, and help women escape from this type of online grooming they say its way more of a slow introduction.

The abusers reach out on social media and shower them with attention, love, and lies about freedom. Then meet up and give the future victim what they want. It could be access to a car, drugs, alcohol, a way to rebel against their parents, etc. Get them in a running group of people who accept and do these things as well. Then they start bringing up the sexual exploitation part. Then they're either willingly doing it or in a super majority of cases isolated, caught up in drugs and alcohol and trapped.

The abusers even use spotters in high school like talked about in the Epstein cases where they can help figure out who is likely to be interested in this. Its a lot easier to meet a friend of a friend than just a random dude online. Big targets are broken homes. Both rich and poor areas suffer from this. The poor areas need the money. The rich areas are attracted to the rebellion and the attention.

Its extremely sad, infuriating, and sick. There was a different thread that had a good line in it. Sin will take you further than you want to go, keep you there longer than you thought you would, and cost more than you ever thought you would pay.

Story caught my eye this morning after reading yesterday about the Mav's kicking the 15yr old kid out and banning him after he tapped or tried to hug or whatever the heck happened or didn't happen with CP's mom and CP yelling and having to physically restrained.

In my non-expert opinion, if DPD had been on top of this (more so than the article implies) you reach out to these folks ASAP. Ok, so the disappearance doesn't technically meet the definition of an abduction or a kidnapping. Another poster said this young woman has run off with a sex trafficker in the past...

Dad should be forthcoming with this. I'd certainly hope he would.

So don't treat it as an abduction/kidnapping. Treat it as a situation of a minor (call it a runaway if you want) that has likely been groomed online and is now in the presence of a sex trafficking organization. Get that info to these folks in Houston that obviously found this girl in less than 24 hrs AFTER THEY WERE FINALLY BROUGHT IN TO HELP!

Oh and as for these groomers and sex traffickers... The gallows are too kind for them. Stretch them in the rack and then disembowel them.

I know of one instance in another country where the main getter was a female. The pitch had nothing to do with sex. It was all about a good paying job, place to stay, and day care.

TABC cancels Houston bar's liquor license after human trafficking investigation

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A Houston bar's liquor permit has been revoked after investigators from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission's Special Investigations Unit say they discovered a suspected brothel operating there.

Vegas Nite Club in the 12600 block of the W. Hardy Road was the subject of a TABC emergency order issued this week following an investigation into allegations of prostitution and human trafficking.

On March 26, investigators reportedly made contact with multiple women believed to be working at the location, resulting in some criminal charges being filed. TABC Victim Services offered assistance to all of the possible victims of human trafficking identified that night.
