Own our government and policy makers.

This should make everyone furious. Rs and Ds are both doing this.

Its a 4 min video: basically, it costs money to be on these select committees that shape policy. John Q public wont pay these fees, so the lobbyists basically do it for quid-pro-quo, in the open.

So basically, to get any kind of leadership, you are almost required to be beholden to K street. Oh, and not surprising - most times bills are actually written by these people, and Congress hardly ever reads them.

How this is not bribery, I have no idea...this is strictly unethical in private corporations. We take training on it twice a year.

I'm no longer furious. I'm just preparing for the downfall. This is not surprising, nor correctable.

R's and D's are different sides of the same coin.

The only answer is frequent and consistent turn over. Career politicians are the citizen's enemy.

He talks about it in the video. There are two groups; the RNCC for the Rs and the DCCC for the democrats. They originate the fees. Im not sure where the money "goes to"...probably back to coffers of the respective parties.

Anyway, he has an anecdote where someone running for the chairman of the RNCC -- his pitch to get elected is that he would charge less - lower the fees, so they seem to be arbitrary.

Usually the dumber they are the higher their kickback is...its literally the only thing they know how to do.

It's no different when a elected politician donates money from his or her campaign fund to another politician campaign fund who then become beholden to the donor. They are not playing with their own money. Just watch how they spend the tax payers money. It's their political game to be more powerful.

Got in a discussion with a lib about lobbying and special interests. They wanted new laws and more government to restrict what corporations and lobbyists could spend and do with government officials. I wanted the government to have less power so the lobbyists and special interest wouldn't have a need/want to try and influence government. The lib didn't understand.

unfortunately this usually gets hung around the neck of capitalism rather than govt bureaucracy and cronyism.

We live in a shell of a republic actually governed by activist and corporate special interests as the real constituents.

That's explained in his video. When the Republican party is in control of making committee assignment the RNCC (republican party machine) requires it to be paid to them. When the Dems are in charge, it's same song, second verse.

How do you stop that? You have to either pick one party and try to reform them of this, or start your own party and get them in power by getting 51% of Americans to back your new party (which is virtually impossible). Reality, and theoretical game theory both show that single-member, winner take all voting districts like we have always devolve into only two parties.

You don't need 51% of Americans to back you, you just need 51% of the electoral votes. A video from a few years I watched showed how you can be elected with only 22% of the popular vote
some of yall need to take a break from texags before the internet brain worms set in for good
