Taking annual training at work.

Completing "Bias in hiring" module

Apparently my company purchased software that ensures language used on job posting is "neutral" because certain words can be considered gender-biased.

Such controversial words as:

Independent
Decision/Decisive
Responsible

My employer had us do 6 hrs of training. Which included how to behave at a work dinner. With details on which cutlery to use when.

But the kicker was on a Toxic Work Environment and how to identify if you're in said environment.

It was a checklist of our current work environment and now morale has decreased further. The crazy part is they removed some of the modules, but people had already done them.

My job has a large cross out front and we are allowed to carry on premises. I'm not a LEO or pastor. My VP still has a Trump 2020 sticker outside his office. Blessed.

My international company has tons of training modules for us to complete. Luckily, they haven't hired anyone to follow up on these training modules. Just ignore them and they go away. When it is a metric they care about, you will know for sure! I've had many emails about late expense reports and utilization metrics, but none about silly training modules...which negatively impact utilization. The bottom line is dollars made for the company.

Katie,

Please inquire why "responsible" is considered controversial. I hope you don't work in a nuke factory.....

My company's safety manager in March of 2020 wanted to have an "all hands on deck" in person meeting with department managers fo discuss how we were going to mitigate the risks of COVID transmission.

I replied back to the safety manager that it'll be awkward when bullet point number one of your power point is to avoid large groups gatherings . The meeting was canceled 10 minutes later.
