That would be fun to watch. They would be saying that the only borders they care about are the interior state borders, not the national borders they are really supposed to care about.
I say do it anyway. Large scale, like the truckers convoy. Make them stop the buses. It's time for a showdown between the states and the fed. Drop them off at the Oklahoma border in the middle of nowhere. Force their hand. Draw attention to the problem. Get the neighboring states involved too. You can't let this be a Texas problem while the rest of the country stays remotely uninterested.
