[No, he did not. The tweet was a troll. There's plenty to discuss without wasting time on trolls, so this thread will be locked -- Staff]

What fake news has emerged and been confirmed that supports a narrative that Ukraine killed their own citizens and staged this?

Based on similar Russian actions previously confirmed during operations in Syria and Chechnya, what leads you to believe that this is more likely a Ukrainian conspiracy than the repeat of a previously confirmed page out of the Russian military playbook?

Not seeing this I wondered the same thing when I saw some footage on TV. It looked sort of staged. Huge trenches dug with a few black body bags. They were calling it mass graves.

Not calling it fake but it's hard to believe everything on the news these days. Investigative journalism is dead.

If this is true, that's waaay over the line. He has made other comments that support Russia (in general) more than the US. If a Republican was President, I doubt he would talk about these types of things.

I'm disappointed, as I like him and will continue to watch him, it just doesn't make sense. That said, he can say whatever he wants and people can watch tune in or not.

There is a ton of independent photographic and video evidence at your fingertips and it does not look staged as long as you're not too lazy or weak of stomach to look at it.

There's nothing wrong with questioning what is put out for public consumption.

However, there's plenty of satellite images out there that show the bodies lying in the street while Russia was in control.

https://www.nytimes.com/live/2022/04/04/world/ukraine-russia-war

Quote:

. . .
An analysis of satellite images by The New York Times rebuts claims by Russia that the killing of civilians in Bucha, a suburb of Kyiv, occurred after its soldiers had left the town.

When images emerged over the weekend of the bodies of dead civilians lying on the streets of Bucha some with their hands bound, some with gunshot wounds to the head Russia's Ministry of Defense denied responsibility. In a Telegram post on Sunday, the ministry suggested that the bodies had been recently placed on the streets after "all Russian units withdrew completely from Bucha" around March 30.

Russia claimed that the images were "another hoax" and called for an emergency U.N. Security Council meeting on what it called "provocations of Ukrainian radicals" in Bucha.

But a review of videos and satellite imagery by The Times shows that many of the civilians were killed more than three weeks ago, when Russia's military was in control of the town.

One video filmed by a local council member on April 2 shows multiple bodies scattered along Yablonska Street in Bucha. Satellite images provided to The Times by Maxar Technologies show that at least 11 of those had been on the street since March 11, when Russia, by its own account, occupied the town.

(Time lapse satellite video showing bodies in street on March 19, when Russia was still in control)

To confirm when the bodies appeared, and when the civilians were likely killed, the Visual Investigations team at The Times conducted a before-and-after analysis of satellite imagery. The images show dark objects of similar size to a human body appearing on Yablonska Street between March 9 and March 11.

The objects appear in the precise positions in which the bodies were found after Ukrainian forces reclaimed Bucha, as the footage from April 2 shows. Further analysis shows that the objects remained in those position for over three weeks.

The causes of death are unclear. Some of the bodies were beside what appears to be an impact crater. Others were near abandoned cars. Three of the bodies lay beside bicycles. Some have their hands bound behind their backs with white cloth. The bodies were scattered over more than half a mile of Yablonska Street.

A second video taken on Yablonska Street shows three more bodies. One lies beside a bicycle, another near an abandoned car. Satellite imagery shows that the abandoned cars and the nearby body appear between March 20 and 21.

(More images of deceased)

These are just some of the civilian bodies discovered since Saturday. The Associated Press published images of at least six dead men lying together in the rear of an office building, some with hands tied behind their backs. The building is one mile west of the other victims found along Yablonska Street.

Another mile further along, a photographer with The Times discovered the body of a man with a gunshot wound to his head lying beside a bicycle.
. . .
I'm not going to (try) to copy the satellite images from Maxar Technologies (which has been publishing shots of satellite shots of military convoys, etc. from the invasion's beginning) or the pictures of dead bodies.

I think they are almost certainly real but that doesn't mean they may not be. Ukraine has put out a lot of fake info from the start in this war with the Ghost of Kiev and beyond. If it's real they should send in international journalists to confirm it, that would be the smart thing. If it happened then the more validation the better.

Sure people on Twitter are outraged by Tucker Carlson supposedly questioning whether Ukraine massacred its own civilians. But what if Tucker Carlson didn't say any of this? And what if this is all a giant plot that is trying to frame Tucker Carlson as a pro-Soviet stooge? Look, I'm just asking questions.

This, and he spews it because his audience eats it up. Look at the posts above… Conspiracy theory Trumpist support Russia, are upset that people aren't buying the BS, Tucker notices this and feeds it back to them and they lap it up.

"Ghost of Kyiv" was actually a senior airman who outperformed and was eventually shot down and killed. Exploits were embellished but he did out-pilot the Russians for a while at the beginning of the war. You can look at domestic war efforts in our past and see the same was done in the interest of morale.

In having spent a lot of time looking at the available information I'd say that deliberate and malicious disinfo is far more heavily weighted to the Russian side. Even some purported Ukrainian disinfo has eventually been traced back to seeding by Russian sources for the purpose of discrediting typically legitimate info sources.

If there's anything you've seen from Ukraine that you find to be overwhelming in volume or inaccuracy then feel free to bring it over to either of the dedicated threads or PM me directly. Chances are I've either already investigated it or can provide insight.

There are many international journalists and other entities in Ukraine currently who have confirmed Bucha and have published stories. All you have to do is Google. Satellite images were released today that show the bodies photographed after Russian withdrawal were there during Russian occupation. Have been laying there for quite some time. They're decomposing and stinking. That takes time in temperatures that have remained quite cold in the region.

True, just think this one is a no-brainer, especially with the satellite images available..
