Years ago I was in Florida and I pulled into a gas station. I went to get the pump and it said $6.99 a gallon. I went in and asked if that was correct, and the dude behind the counter said yes. Got in my car and drove a block away to a station charging less than $2. Come to find out that station is right next to a hotel with a lot of international visitors. They charge insanely high prices on everything, and people pay because they don't know any better.
Some of these people need to suffer quite a bit more before they figure things out it seems.TheEternalPessimist said:
I yelled out at the Holiday Gas Station at HWY 62 and 101 in Eden Prairie, MN while filling up last night among several cars doing the same:
"YOU GET WHAT YOU VOTE FOR MINNESOTA!"
Angry liberal woman getting gas shakes her head and calls me 'Trumpoid'.
That was quite presumptive of her! Her guilty conscience activated I guess!

I hope that place blows away in the next hurricane. That's not capitalism. That's taking advantage of people.AustinAg2K said:

The issue was the concentration of oil production and refining capacity among the Gulf coast.
We STILL need refining capacity and oil production expanded geographically across the country and need to ignore the environmentalist mob that is keeping our energy production limited.
I don't discount it.ABATTBQ11 said:TheEternalPessimist said:Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Rita much?ABATTBQ11 said:

I drove an '85 Pontiac land yacht in HS and remember paying $75+ to fill up. For someone making $5.75 an hour it was mind blowing.
