Pay no attention to the economics aspect. I'm entitled!!!
This is the women's soccer team mantra all over again and these women are going to use Title IX to make it "fair" by the government suing companies for "equality".

I hate to be "that guy" but if she were higher on the points scale (closer to a 10) I bet those NIL deals would look a bit different.

Also, I need to know how many followers she has on socials. Barstool is dropping NIL deals on players that get their follows up. Doesn't matter D1-D3.
Top NIL deals for college women.

The Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) compensation gap between men's and women's NCAA athletes is widening, according to new data released by Opendorse on Monday.

The difference between female and male payment grew by more than 4% over the past two months, with men on Division 1 teams accounting for 71.7% of the compensation while women earned 28.3%.

Quote:

The University of Iowa women's basketball star Caitlin Clark believes the discrepancy comes down to big brands choosing not to partner with female athletes.

"I think we just haven't been given those opportunities," Clark said on Yahoo Finance Live (video above).
Data indicates that Clark may be onto something: Football, baseball, and men's basketball lead all NIL activities, per Opendorse, and account for nearly half of all NIL activity, while women's basketball represents less than 5%.
Quote:

During that series, University Oregon women's basketball player Sedona Prince used her large following on TikTok to reveal stark differences between the men's and women's workout facilities. The men's gym included several squat racks, free weights, and other exercise equipment, while the women's teams were left with just a few sets of dumbbells.

Quote:

"These inequities are something I've kind of lived throughout my college experience," Clark said. "And only being in college for two years and is something I can use my voice and my platform to do. So it was an easy yes for me to partner with them."

Well…….well…….well…….The women's basketball team won a National Championship and none of the others did, so the women"s BB players should get just as much money.*

College women nil deals are probably going to be equalized by unfortunately sexifying themselves.

Wondering that as well, but baseball more than basketball? That doesn't make sense.

If they want to make more money than the men it's going to be in contracts that they probably won't like... but in an industry that pays women significantly more than the men.

It's a guarantee that the best female NIL deals will go to the best looking women who have the biggest social media accounts. Their talent on the field doesn't matter at all unless they are an Olympic gold medal winning athlete. These are endorsement deals so businesses are obviously going to care about what is and is not marketable. Since female attractiveness is the number one most important quality for women in advertisements it stands to reason they will choose the most attractive women.

Talent doesn't matter because all of the women are less talented by a significant margin than any collegiate male athlete such that the female product is an inferior product and it always will be.

Just get women to support your sports by watching and buying tickets and you can get all the NIL money you can dream of. Unfortunately women only seem interested in taking money from men when they are already getting a scholarship to play a sport that loses money. If you bring little value you get little money. Get women to care about women and you can have all the money you can dream of.
ouch... but all true.

Pretty sure the 18.5% attribution is a typo and should be baseball.
Nope. Believe it or not, women's basketball is #2 at 18.5%

men's basketball is 15$

women's volleyball is the 2.4% typo

baseball is 1.4%. (less than softball)

NIL pay differenced are not "inequities;" they are differences. Reasons for difference include various sports, positions, performance, popularity of the particular sport, schools, conferences, regions, advertising value and dozens of other reasons.

I can't believe anyone watches women's college basketball at all. Ever.

As per some points above, NIL deals on a small scale for women's soccer, volleyball make more sense to me, but whatever. Welcome to the real world ladies; you're not gonna make a great living playing basketball professionally either.

If you ever hear a woman complaining about inequality in pay just ask them how many WNBA, Women's College Basketball, and Women's Softball games they attend regularly. Ask them how their teams are doing and how often they watch them on TV. Ask them if they can even name the star players much less teams. Then ask them why is this anyone but women's own fault.

There are lots of men that are amazing athletes in sports that people simply don't care much about to watch and they don't get scholarships and they don't get paid big money. Women as well. If people don't want to pay to watch you play and would rather watch a Simpson's rerun than watch your sport live then there is no money. You have to build the market and then you get paid.

In San Antonio ANCIRA did some NIL deals with various UTSA athletes

I keep thinking that groups like the aTm dance team can make $$$ doing appearances.
Appearance fees are quick, easy $$$$ for lower tier athletic teams.

Look at Anna Kournikova, the tennis player. She won a grand total of ZERO titles, but made a lot of money in ad spend because of her looks.

Hmm I see a disturbing trend here.

Forget gender pay gap disparity. The bigger issue here is that NIL deals in women's sports are EXTREMELY RACIST/BIGOTED!!!

To my perception, all those pictures feature cis-female white or white adjacent (aka asian) athletes.
WHERE ARE THE DEALS FOR THE TRANSGENDEREDEDED AND THE BIPOC ATHLETES?!

There will likely always be a discrepancy in earnings potential from NIL. Football players will always do okay because that's where the majority of money will go, and it's not really tied to any measurable ROI. It's about recruiting.

Everyone else has to deliver an audience. And ironically, among minor sports, women athletes have a distinct advantage. They use social media much more than young men; they are more willing to make frequent, creative posts with specific objectives; and they can build huge, general audiences especially if they are attractive.

Five years from now, I bet we still see football getting the lion's share of NIL money, and a handful of attractive, outgoing minor sport athletes making real bank. Everyone else will get little or nothing.
