Will heckling be the norm at State of the Union addresses?
Seems to work for UK and Canada parliaments.
We seem to get one at just about every SOTU, so yeah, it unfortunately looks like it. Hopefully it doesn't evolve into the British system of heckling. I also hope we don't ever have an idiot tear up the president's speech again.
They should simply stop attending. That would be much better. I wouldn't attend anymore. Its nothing but gaslighting from the left.

It's bad, but not as bad as the 10 minutes spent on cheers and jeers.

It'd be better if the SOTU went back to what it was before Wilson insisted on the pomp befitting an emperor. It's just a cheerleading spectacle at this point with no real substance.

We should do away with the live speech altogether as it provides little substance and its further waste of the American tax dollar.
Instead, use AI technology and distribute a pre-made speech and rebuttal with slick backgrounds, pretty audience members and smoothing music to settle our nerves.

The entire aristocratic spectacle is beyond ridiculous, and so is the haughty airs they put on regarding decorum while burying knives In eachother's backs, and screwing over whoever gets between them and the next dollar more often than not.
As long as the address isn't actually an address on the state of the union - which should be a boring business type of address and is nothing more than a political shtshow grandsanding speech filled with crap stacked on top of lies and sprinkled with more crap....no issue with heckling.
We act as if the political arena has always been this pure and genteel world where everybody calls each other "sir" and "the gentleman" and even disagreements are cordial. I wish that stupid mentality would die, because it's a new phenomenon that is 100% revisionist history and we actually live in a time of the most benign and laid back politics between parties in US history.

As long as the press gaslights the public and carries water for one political party the other party will be forced to get the counter-message out anyway possible. Couple that with the fact that conservatives aren't allowed to act out in "mostly peaceful protest". Since our partisan press shows no sign of changing and in fact has become even more partisan, expect these incidents to become more common. Conservatives are rightly frustrated with our "representative" government and our "free" press.

Problem is that they are friends... they put on shows about "we're gonna stop them, blah blah blah" and then go out for drinks together after they give their bases the red meat they crave. I bet 90% of them get along fine and laugh their asses off together at the fun little shell game they've mastered.
