A number of people have quoted Robert Gates disparaging Joe Biden's foreign policy abilities on F-16. However, in November 2020 Robert Gates walked back that very criticism of Joe Biden and reiterated his 2016 criticism of Donald J. Trump. Robert Gate was/is a Never Trumper like the Bush family and many others, who are mocked and despised by many on F-16. So why the love on F-16 for Robert Gates?

I don't know how anyone could look at the shape that the country was in while Trump was President and look at the shape it's in now and still argue along these lines. Despite Gates' personal butthurt, Trump was easily the best president of my lifetime while Biden has been the worst.

As someone that has served under 3 presidents now, I vehemently disagree with gates. Trump was the only president in my 9 years that seemed to prioritize what really mattered, and that was ensuring the US military is strong and projects strength.

He also wiped out isis, oversaw peace treaties in the ME, took out an Iranian 4 star general bc they ****ed up and found out, and stopped NKs pudgy little dictator from testing missiles over Japan. I was in Japan from 15-19, and that was a pretty big relief. The wokeness training stopped for 4 years, and magically started back up last January. Wild how that happened.

I quoted Gates about Biden because Gates was, and continues to be, proven right on that point. Clearly, Gates is capable and enthusiastic about supporting democratic candidates, and yet he thinks Biden has been wrong about foreign policy his entire career.

Given the political nature of Gates, it's not surprising he hates Trump. That has nothing to do with his point about Biden. Biden's errors have been DEMONSTRATED. If you want to hate Trump, be my guest. I just want a conservative president who loves America as founded and doesn't have dementia.

Trump understands leverage. Intellects do not. There are certain world leaders who can only be kept in order by the threat of unbearable retaliation. It's simple, really, but Gates likes him some diplomacy.

So Biden has been wrong on every foreign policy issue in his lifetime but he's a "man of integrity" (sorry, trying not to puke) so that's ok. Trump on the other hand was right on virtually every issue and made some bold moves that paid off big but he is "temperamentally unsuited to lead our men and women in uniform".
