Looks like they don't want any more details about the autopsy released to the public......

Are they trying to protect his image? Is there an insurance settlement angle they're concerned about?

What really happened?

Is this normal for the family of a deceased celebrity to do? Or were they made aware of some embarrassing circumstances surrounding his death that they don't want getting out in public?

I think a lot of people knew he did drugs. He died because he hit his head, but there were probably drugs in his system that didn't help his cause.

I think the family is afraid the general public will take the news about drugs in his system and tarnish his legacy a little.

Edit: if the autopsy really showed no drugs then I don't know what the family would be upset about

This. It's their family and if they feel it's just too painful hearing about this in the media, they have the right to protect their family.

I'd certainly be fine if more details don't come out. Clearly, he fell and hit his head, leading to his death. The greater public doesn't really have a material interest in greater insight/images. Let the family grieve and move on without the pressure of national/regional news headlines containing stuff that would just anger/hurt them.

I think the autopsy showed no "illegal" drugs. I read that he did have sedatives, anti depressants and klonopin in his system.

I posted a video of the comedian (Heather McDonald) last week who literally passed out backwards during her set. She cracked the back of her skull. Wonder if a similar fall happened here?

Part of it is that Florida has a pretty generous public record policy. Which is why you see all the crazy stories about Florida man.

Since Saget died unnaturally in Florida, he had to be autopsied; and those records will initially have the presumption that they are public.

The number of discreet injuries to different parts of the skull, suggests otherwise.

As mentioned, he was on anti-anxiety meds and sleeping meds, which can lead to a bad fall as well as a guy who may be inclined to pass out/sleep after it. That said, the extent of fracturing is unusual for a slip and fall. But it still could have just been a really bad spill on a very hard surface and weakened old man bones extended the fractures more. But they certainly need to be taking another close look to see who could have had access to him in the window of the injury

I suspect they just don't want to images out. Nobody wants photos circulated of their loved one's brain being held in gloved hands with goo flowing out of their skull in the background.

Murderabillia and Necromania are real phenomenons and there are people that will rush to post celebrity gore photos online.
