Paxton is the definition of a Texas establishment politician. He's been in politics for 20 years now. Not that is a reason to not vote for him, but let's be serious about why people don't like him.

Unless and until Paxton has full and complete exoneration for his securities scandals, he can't fight the Biden Admin and SEC on ESG issues. Texas sitting out that fight is devastating for the Texas economy. There basically isn't a shred of difference in ANY of the Republican candidates except that. Sorry, if you care about the Texas economy, find a new horse.

The R party needs to turn over politicians more often in the state. I think that would be best for the party and best for the state. I agreed with the ideas behind getting Perry out of office, but I didn't agree with the group doing it (establishment Rs trying to install Kay Bailey Hutchinson). It feels like we need to test out term limits within our state.

This reminds me of the Tech football coach this past season getting asked a softball question "What do like best about the city of Lubbock?", something you would expect him to have coach-spoke his way through about 1000 times on the recruiting trail, and instead he answers something like "..............Eh I don't really go out much, I like spending time with my family". I don't like Paxton personally. But....I will vote for him because he's the incumbent and has done a good job doing what the Texas AG with a liberal federal government should do (see Abbott's term as AG during Obama admin as a benchmark).

If he were going to be indicted they'd have pulled the trigger on that already when he was kicking their azzes during the Covid shutdown/mandate challenges, border stuff, etc. It's like TDS at this point, except only the Texas Tribune investigating and pumping lies instead of the entire international MSM like it was with Trump.

I'm curious about the validity of the continuous legal allegations against Paxton but given who they come from I can't be sure they have any seriousness. It's a classic case of do you settle for a seemingly adequate established candidate or hope you get something better, not knowing if they might have their own surprise flaws.

Push your own candidate and stop bashing others.

Paxton is part of the establishment. Not saying that is good or bad, but to say he isn't would be erroneous.

And SCOTUS took that case and launched it into the sun for lack of standing. If you're going to do something, at least have it be productive. That lawsuit was a tweet with a filing fee, and it's a reason not to vote for someone.

Louie Gohmert needs to be our next Attorney General.

The DOJ is going to come down hard on Paxton leading up to the fall election and paint him in the worst light possible.....whether he is guilty or not....

Paxton seems to take on certain cases and ignore big ones for some reason. That's being generous because he seems to avoid any big issues that would conflict with state democrats.
