"Texas State University will rename a dorm because its namesake was involved in the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Sallie Beretta, who was born in 1874 and died in 1964, was the first women appointed to serve on the Board of Regents for the Texas State University System. In 1947, a new women's dormitory was named after her."

Well, they also seem to want to look over the fact that most Africans that ended up slaves were sold into slavery by other black Africans.

Slavery is alive and well today, even in the United States. How about we focus on that ?

It's not just this. Have any of y'all tried to go to a state office these days? They are all still working from home. Many of them still have signs that you must wear a mask.

The "Civil War" was not fought to free slaves. That has become almost a universally accepted fact but it is not true. The "Civil War" was fought to force sovereign states back into a federal union in which they no longer desired membership.

What was the skin color of those who wrote and passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964? What was the skin color of the justices in Brown v. Board of Education.

so those sovereign states could keep slaves...

Yes, the CW was about slavery. It turns out that state sovereignty may have been more important, since slavery would have ended anyway since it was an economically inefficient agrarian system (in addition to being evil, of cours).
