Why not require a fingerprint for a mail in ballot?

You fill in the application stuff, and put your fingerprint on the envelope. It's not attached to your actual ballot, but on the envelope you mail in. The technology is there for it to be affordable.

The dems will just turn down the matching percentage on the fingerprint algorithm until they all pass just like they do with signatures.

Or better yet, people can go to the voting location in person to vote.

Dont need ink. Just an adhesive square with a clear plastic protective flap over it. Lift flap. Place finger. Close flap.

How many dummies would screw it up? The Dems would scream to high heaven about it because their constituents are not smart enough to do it right.

How about voting the old fashion way. Just show up in person. I understand there are reasons for mail in ballots; out of country, infirmed, etc. Personally, I have never trusted my vote to be counted by mail in, even though elgible due to all the issues that can go wrong. That said, I have also wanted a paper ballot to be generated from electronic voting machines in Texas....and I have been waiting a long time.

Still wouldn't be fair to those without fingers……much higher percentage of minority population (especially middle eastern immigrants) that have no fingers to grasp the plastic. You folks are so out of touch with the real world……geeeeeeshhhhh.

My state has one day of in person voting and fairly strict strict absentee rules.

Using a fingerprint on an envelope of a mail in ballot is a good solution for the one day situation to me.

Your state does not allow early voting in person?

Never negotiate with Democrats.

If you want to vote, get your lazy ass to the poll with an easily obtained ID (that you likely already have). No more MIB (exceptions for overseas folks and those physically unable to get to the poll), no more ballot harvesting, and add to the process that one must have paid in to the system via taxes to eliminate the leach vote.

No early voting outside of some absentee ballots and many of them have to be notarized before being turned in.

That's one step away from voting online, which would make it easy for the entire country to vote. The problem with that is that do we really want people who don't vote now because it's too much of an "effort" voting?

The last thing I want is a meth head who spends all day watching tik tok videos while they're high deciding how our government is going to be run for the next 4 years.

Hard pass.

Because the whole reason dims want mass mail in balloting is to cheat. Fingerprints would defeat the purpose entirely.

If you can't take the effort to show up at a polling station, show id, and vote then you should not be able to vote period.

What's next a mobile van going door to door getting votes from people.

It's intentional fraud.

Anything to do with confirming the actual vote is legitimate the left is opposed to, as racist. Fraud, and open gates on verification (signature, fingerprint, ID, postal date, whatever) with zero traceability are their objectives.

This has nothing to do with Tanya's unnamed state/process/derail attempt/morning coffee.

The poor and minorities don't have fingerprints. Therefore, it would be exclusionary. Duh.

I think in person voting is optimal.

I just think it should be more than a one day option.

It would be if politicians weren't afraid of losing their jobs. The more people that vote the greater the odds of politicians being replaced. They, more than anyone here don't want more voters. Every incumbent has to only worry about lying to their set base, but give them more people to lie to and they'll risk losing the first group.

Once again, that you feel in person voting should be for a period of greater than 1 day is not on topic.

Yet most states do have early in person voting options.

I think ours simply has to do with not wanting to spend the money on hiring people to work the polls the other days.

I remember working them as a college student and I was very well paid at the time. Something like 50 dollars for the day and free meals.

Once again, what you once did, and got paid, as a college student decades ago, has nothing at all to do with the subject of this thread. Nor do your feelings/suspicions about fiscal concerns of politicians in your state, seeking to be too spendthrift with taxpayer funds. Nor does anything at all you have posted on this thread.

If you want to vote by mail then send in your application with finger print. If a person does not want their finger print on file then vote in person.

FYI I think most states require a fingerprint for a drivers licenses, so that boat has sailed.

So requiring ID to vote in person has been screamed by the left as a racist requirement but having everyone's fingerprint on file to promote more mail in balloting is cool?

That's so dumb to me. Two weeks of early voting in Texas is the best, it's insane more states don't do it. You allow two weeks, get rid of mail in voting except for strict absentee situations, and any vote received by mail after the deadline of 5 on Thursday is not counted, and you would solve pretty much every issue anyone has.

But instead, we get democrats accusing Texas of Jim Crow 2.0, even though Texas already has looser voting laws than the states the democrats live in.
