This TX Dad, a Marine, has a son is still recovering from wounds suffered in the bomb attack that killed 13 and wounded 22 at the Kabul airport. His boy lost a leg below the knee, shrapnel wounds to the stomach, broke both arms, burns, hearing loss, over a dozen surgeries and counting and trying to deal with the nightmares about what has happened to him and some of his friends that didn't make it.

No conservatives love freedom and are willing to fight for it when pushed far enough.

What freedom do we gain by involving ourselves in Ukraine? Especially when it was the US/NATO who broke their promise to Russia in that we would not expand NATO membership?

Nothing..

If you are a part of the swamp you want war. It gets you money and power.

Which is why I separated conservatives from Republicans.

The military is a risky gig, even more so given the political swings in this country. That's just the reality of it.

You may have been correct pre-Trump, but we have learned who's who. Democrats would never admit they need to get better.

I haven't seen a single poster on here say they love war.

What's hitting is the reality of the end of the long peace.

I got lambasted in another thread for stating this Ukraine mess is nothing but bankers and neocons causing trouble and that we should not get involved.

And the left will tout going to war as "Biden getting tough" when it was really his feebleness that emboldened Putin in the first place.

Fortunately, forum posters don't make these decisions.

Presidents do.

President Trump didn't start any new wars and set us on a path to get us out of Afghanistan - something a previous Nobel Peace Prize winning President didn't have the balls to do.

The current one appears mobilizing troops for a war with Russia.
Or maybe he's trying to cover for his ridiculous minor incursion comment by putting American lives on the line.

American politicians of both colors, red and blue, love war.

They only disagree on who the real enemy is but they are both all for war any time it comes up.

Again…no one wants war.

8500 troops aren't being deployed to Ukraine. They are being deployed to NATO Allies.

Are you saying we should not support NATO allies?

To an extent. But the people give political capital to those in charge to go to war. A bunch of idiots on here are dick waving like its still the cold war around here.

NATO has broken its promise to Russia to not extend membership to new countries. We have broken our word and are now playing the victim when Russia is dictating things within its sphere of influence.

And frankly, NATO can get ****ed. Europeans have committed cultural and demographic suicide and we're supposed to die to protect them? No thanks. These are European problems; we've got enough trouble at home.

This is a psyop catch phrase used by the military industrial complex to justify war in places that do not threaten our freedom. The biggest threat to our freedom is the establishment occupying DC. (We need to peacefully and legally replace the establishment for any Fed *******s monitoring the boards; go find a patsy somewhere else).

May be a catch phrase but it's true, no matter whose running the show.

What promise did we make Russia not to expand NATO? We never made such promises and Russia doesn't get a say in their neighbors' foreign policy.

In protecting Ukraine, we gain preservation of a western world order of which America is the primary beneficiary.

Read this.

And the "Western world order" is nothing but degeneracy, regime change, and fiat currency at this point.

All I see are discussions - with a Soviet government that doesn't exist anymore - that never consummated in a formal agreement. NATO first expanded after the Cold War in 1999, which was before Vladimir Putin rose to President. There can be no rationale claim that some past broken promise now legitimizes Russian invasion of Europe 22 years after the fact.

In what way could 8,500 US troops make any difference in an engagement in any country with 175k Russian troops? What compelling national interest or even NATO goal would they serve? If the goal is to create hostages or casualties like Kabul; then it is likely a brilliant masterstroke. If it's to create any form of protection or deterrent capability, it's a bad joke. This is a silly response to what is happening and reflects a group of buffoons trying to run foreign policy; which is already well established in their 1st year. It's no substitute for the myriad mistakes they've made in the last year. The fate of the Ukraine is meaningless to us and apparently the Europeans as well. Not our fight. Send troops to the border...we're actually being invaded there.

But if we don't go to war with Russia, a bunch of ****s in england will hate us more than they already do! They will have to let more middle easterners into their borders to replace their dead!!!
