* Working with energy producers, electric retailers, and Bitcoin and cryptocurrency miners to establish a more robust and reliable energy grid. Promote the use of flared or vented gas for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency mining.
* Protecting citizens and businesses from federal government interference and Federal Reserve-induced inflation by holding a portion of state reserve funds to Bitcoin and eliminating barriers to citizens owning, mining, and transacting in Bitcoin.
* Protecting Texas-based Bitcoin and cryptocurrency owners and miners from federal regulations.

* Prohibiting localities from regulating Bitcoin miners and Bitcoin holders.

eliminating property taxes is his big selling point. While it appeals to my itching ears, he knows that's not a serious position and can never happen. I don't care about crypto and I don't need government intervention into the Dallas. Cowboys either. Hard pass.

He talks a great game. If he can accomplish even half of what he's campaigning on Texas will greatly improve.

The difference is that alot of the ideas are so great and out there that it will take some serious balls and support to implement them. I hope he can do it but would like to see some ballsy action in the campaign to go along with the words so we know he's serious about going up against the establishment.

Either way, if he ends up being all talk and no action, it's the same as having Abbott so I'm not seeing a downside in that regard.

We are not living in stable times, and in chaotic times you'll need someone with balls, not a maintainer but a builder/founder mentality.

Who is the better choice here? Abbott?

Huffines will likely get my vote during the primaries. Anyone that votes for Abbott is an even bigger idiot than taking a flier on this guy.

Huffines has the money to run at least a credible campaign against Abbott. I'll vote for Abbott if he wins the nomination, but we need to primary Abbott and Huffines seems to have the best shot.

He wants to get rid of property tax by expanding sales tax by making it basically a vat which would include adding sales tax to professional services and home sales.

That's correct, and that's why it's economically advantageous to run miners off the gas and turn off the flare.

To clarify, it's not economically effective to send the gas anywhere, it's stranded, but it's is a useful source of energy despite it being stranded, for bitcoin miners.

That's because oil & gas companies aren't energy generators, and there's no point in building the infrastructure for it. However that flared gas is produced energy we burn away, and there are several aggies that have companies that are doing this very thing. Using that gas to mine bitcoin.

I think that's a little short-sighted. Most people never even realized this could be a reality until a few months ago. It's literally that new of an idea for the mainstream American.

Look at the skeptics that still laugh at BTC, period. No way there would already be movement on someone's own to actually use gas for mining considering where we are in the adoption curve of BTC.
