I believe he said he was willing to listen / discuss but opposed them out of principle and would need a very clear language to avoid a 4th amendment issue. For all the "shall not be infringed!" REeeeee that creates I suppose you support violent felons being legally armed?

A willingness for conversation is admirable, he didn't "support red flag laws".

I think it's simple. You commit a violent felony, you receive the appropriate punishment. Rob a bank, jail. Rob it with a gun? Thunderdome. Make it a PPV if you want, IDFC. Once a year or once the violent felony section gets full, the whole cell block goes into a Battle Royale. Last one standing goes back into holding.
Likewise, rape should be dealt with appropriately. Damage somebody's genitals? Yours get damaged. Not surgically, that's too generous. Sledgehammers and acid get involved.
I'm all for no Fing step, but the second you step, pay the consequences. Too many personal liberties have been given away already.
.357 magnum is the only 9mm worth carrying.
