Take it easy on Ted, his dad is the Zodiac Killer. Had to be rough on him growing up...

What has he done?

What has who done?
Joe Manchin. You said he has done more for you than any Republican.

Cruz is pathetic. That was one of the saddest things I've ever seen from a politician, but that's what you get with the modern GOP.
The fact that a far lefty, based on posting history, like you hates the guy he must be doing some good things.

He made a mistake and is willing to say so. Cruz does so many things that are good for conservatives. He defends regular Americans and there are very few like him up there. No need to continue the circular firing squad.
Please don't be so naive. Ted Cruz calling Jan 6 participants 'Terrorists' was not a mistake.

Of all our Senators, Cruz may be the most articulate. Precise language - and his grasp of the english language are some of his biggest strengths. He used the term deliberately. And now he's trying to explain it away. it's sad - that is, both his choice to use the term and his failure to own it now that he's done it. Typical politician.

So what about someone on the far right like me?
The flames of the Imperium burn brightly in the hearts of men repulsed by degenerate modernity. Souls aflame with love of goodness, truth, beauty, justice, and order.

At least he said it was a mistake. Obviously he planned to use the word and did so because he is in DC and he was trying to save face. Hopefully he learns from this and doesn't go PC ever again.

I'm not sure I have ever seen a sitting Senator absolutely destroyed this badly. This was an absolute domination by a man who knows Cruz very well.

Not even Trump came close to this.
You based that on a 40 second clip that doesn't even show Cruz's response?

LMFAO

The actual full interview is much worse. Tucker repeatedly assaults him and Ted does nothing but grovel. He looked extremely pathetic and showed his true colors.
Lets vote for Beto !!!!

Cruz made a mistake. Lets erase all the good that he has done and cancel his ass. That will show 'em.

Congrats on the pathetic post of the day. Lets throw everyone under the buss that makes a mistake and hand it all the the radical left. Some of you people are nuts.

I'm troubled by the fact that the most level-headed posters on F16 appear to be Red Raiders.

Well there is a point where some just hate everyone that doesn't agree with a VERY NARROW ideological perspective. Such folks are pretty worthless given they cant have a consensus or play well with others. Cant even build a working coalition with people that share 90% of their views. Those are called useless outliers. You will never make 'em happy then they turn on you. So F* 'em

You asked.

While I agree it was a terrible thing he said, he at least acknowledged he was wrong and apologized for it (unlike most politicians who can't admit when they've made a mistake).

This thread is quite demoralizing. We have a politician slipping up and telling us what he actually thinks and we are here making excuses for him and letting them off the hook.
People did that for Trump on the time we he misspoke. People on here would say, well this is what he meant.

The difference is that Trump's mouth sometimes would run well ahead of his brain.

Cruz always knows exactly what he is saying.

I was going to ask if Cruz might be using terrorist in the legal definition as someone who commits a terroristic threat, a scary sounding crime, but is nothing more than saying, "I'm going to punch you in the face." (Based upon the time I was on a jury pool for a guy who punched a bouncer).
But Cruz is a better lawyer than that.

Second edit to add: Unlike the Democrats and slimy bureaucrats, Cruz invited himself into Tucker knowing he would have to answer difficult questions.

Before I judge him too harshly, right now with the Democrats holding a slim majority, I will withhold judgment until we see what Cruz does when the Republicans gain a majority next year, and can actually accomplish something.

Interesting note. In the original Constitution, the VP would be the person who took second place in the Electoral College vote. By such rules the Republicans would control the 50/50 Senate this year. Can you imagine the fun if Trump were the Vice President?

The 12th amendment changed this process.

It makes him look like a P, right or wrong he should have just moved on instead of bending over for Trump yet again.
