I'll Never Take Joe Rogan Seriously Again

Joe Rogans political opinions only don't make sense if you believe that everyone's political opinions either perfectly line up with the Democratic Party platform or perfectly line up with the Republican Party platform. In reality, 33% of Americans would never vote Democrat, 33% of Americans would never vote Republican, and 33% of Americans either don't pay attention to politics at all and won't vote or have some nuanced political opinion that could go either way.

Joe Rogan is on record supporting Bernie Sanders and Ron Paul. That tells me he at least as identified a very important point - something is very very wrong with the political establishment in this country. While I've never voted Democrat in my life and never will, I actually have more respect for a Bernie voter than a voter of any establishment candidate in either party. There are only 2 candidates in the past few elections for which a vote signals that you understand something about the "swamp" needs to be changed - and badly - Bernie and Trump.
Quoted and starred. Stands out as one of the best posts I've ever read on Forum 16. Reminds me of something MouthBQ98 would say, which is a high compliment.

Credit Rogan he has duped all you idiots into believing he some sort of academic whose opinions matter. All the while earning millions.

Lol no one thinks he is some wise sage. He's a meathead who is curious and free thinking and has SOME interesting takes, that's it. But he is willing to have guests on that no one else will. And even better, it's long form civil discussion. He's also not afraid of being cancelled and will say whatever the F he wants.

If it was just Rogan, no one would watch and he'd be broke and trying to do small time stage acting or something.

Also flagged for personal attack
He's such a rebel/ free tinker he sold out to Spotify. SMH

Not sure what point you are trying to make? He took a huge payday and went to a company less likely to censor him and has been allowed to say whatever he wants to say and have guests who do the same thing, with zero repercussions. No way YouTube let's him have some of these conversations imo.

But regardless, not sure what pt you are making?
My point is he is not a free thinker since he sold to Spotify he has already been censored. Like I said most people are duped by him so your defense makes sense.

Stop expecting indie commentators and podcast hosts to be conservative heroes, and start appreciating them for the conversations and viewpoints they allow to be brought to the masses.

Rogan isn't a right wing mouthpiece. He's a podcast host. Same with people like Tim Pool. You don't have to like everything they have to say to appreciate their work and information.

No.
Rogan sucks now.

This is hilarious. Rogan is an entertainer with a gigantic platform that he uses to talk with people HE finds interesting. He refused trump and Biden but talked to Bernie, Tulsi.

He picks the guests and he's good at asking questions in a conversation mostly to have people explain their perspective on life.

Yes he's a broken record on psychedelics and many of his other ideas but he lets his guests talk and questions them when most others would let them slide.

He's not the greatest person ever nor does he care about what people think about his opinions. At the end of the day he's able to do what he wants and he's able to bring interesting guests across so many fields that he's a net positive.

And to the guy railing about selling out to Spotify, they're a Swedish company that appears to be much better about censorship than any of the American companies that offer alternative platforms.

And the point about Michelle Obama? She's the best democrat available if trump ends up the nominee. So what if he likes the Obamas?

Just in the past few weeks he has put out several interviews that almost no other tech or social media company would have let air. I have been pleasantly surprised with Spotify. Rogan is actually pushing the envelope MORE than he did pre-Spotify.

Dude voted for Bernie Sanders. I like him because he has intellectual curiosity. He isn't an NPC like the rest of the left.

Agreed.

It's obvious now that had he stayed on Apple Podcast app / YouTube he would have been left dead-in-the-water months ago with a flick of a switch.

I'm not about purity. But when the views that you have on such things like Obama being the best president of our lifetime then I honestly question your sanity. The man set back race relations 40 years and has been the architect of the modern day progressive movement. Obama's just a notch above satan himself in my book. And Michelle would be a horrific president.
