Find a farmer and buy directly from them. I think that is the best way to make sure they can afford stay in business.

I may have believed the stuff with crops. It wouldn't be the first time the government has done similar.

However, dumping oil tankers into the ground, that one went too far and is an indication that all of that info is crap.

I don't think this is that uncommon

It's how the government games the grain price market to keep prices higher


I abhore this. To think that's there's starving people and farmers get insurance to plow their crops under. The better way to do this would be have a minimum set government price and the government subsidies the harvest to a certain point.

I've been farming for 20 years and the govt has never asked me to destroy a crop. I remember my dad plowing up some wheat sometime in the 80s. I think that might have been a thing in an ancient farm bill. The idea definitely stuck in the minds of the public.

Outside of dry goods, I get everything directly from the ranchers and farmers in my area

Get with the times man. Lots of farmers are online and have a pickup location or home delivery for bulk goods. They are not selling a mason jar of oats one housewife at a time. Lol
