Fair enough, I agree with that. I've got no problem with Israel being a sovereign state and am glad its around; I do have a problem with the US having to be the one to fight its wars.

Revelation will play out as written, I don't think its going to be peachy here in the US (or whatever government entity(s) exist here at the time) regardless of how nice or mean we are to Israel.

No no, I think where the Dome of the Rock sits is on top of Solomon's creation of the first temple. So we agree.
I wouldn't call the second temple 'bogus' but I believe that when Ezra rebuilt the temple and when Nehemiah rebuilt the wall, that God doesn't speak or command it at all as He is absent in those scriptures. Nor was there evidence of God's presence resting in the second temple. No pillar of fire or cloud or Angel of the Lord residing within the camp. When Christ comes back in glory, He's gonna build a temple to reign eternal wherever he pleases, and that will be on the foundations of Solomon's temple in the city he named Salem which means peace. And no UN resolution is going to stop Him.

Those who think the US can stick its head in the sand should remember the Russians are in Syria and in alliance with Iran as well as making diplomatic overtures to (formally) NATO ally Turkey.

I wish Trump were still President because I'm pretty certain he would have at least made noise about relocating the UN to Brussels. There is no reason for them to be here anymore.

There is an interesting theory that the actual temple was located to the south of the Temple Mount, and that what is considered the Temple Mount today is actually the remnants of Solomon's Palace. Jesus in Matt 24:2 prophesied that "not one stone will be left upon another," with regard to the Temple. In 70 AD, when the Romans destroyed the Temple and the city, Jewish historian, Flavius Josephus, who was present in Jerusalem when the city was captured and burned, described the devastation in this manner:

"The countryside like the City was a pitiful sight; for where once there had been a lovely vista of woods and parks there was nothing but desert and stumps of trees; every trace of beauty had been blotted out by war, and nobody who had known it in the past and came upon it suddenly would have recognized the place: when he was already there he would still have been looking for the city."

This implies that Jesus' prophesy come true. If so, then what is the remnant of stone and building that Jews and Muslims are fighting over?

Interesting theory. Not endorsing one way or another. But it would be a sense of humor only God could enjoy to see all this wrangling over the wrong place.

There is no archeological evidence that Muhammad ever visited Jerusalem, let alone ascended from the temple mount.

On the other hand there is amble evidence that the Jewish Temple was built (and destroyed) on the temple mount. Not once, but twice.
