"Kyle Rittenhouse Shouldn't Have Even Been There"

Is this actually true? One could argue that something like this should not fall to 17 year olds, sure....but when your town is being attacked (Yes, attacked) and the local authorities are overwhelmed then what should happen?

Should we twiddle our thumbs and whisper quietly to ourselves that "this is what insurance is for"?

Is it "vigilantism" when the authorities are either unwilling or incapable of maintaining public safety?

Rittenhouse wouldn't have needed to be there if the frigging politicians and law enforcement agencies did their jobs to protect life and property of their residents from the rioting and looting.

I'll roll you one even better.

If f****** idiots wouldn't protest by rioting and looting, there'd be no need for police to be there.

They've tricked you into normalizing these protests-- like it's a "given" that they are going to happen.

No one should have been there. It's completely irrelevant to whether the loss of life was murder or self defense.

the rioting and looting shouldn't have happened if the local elected politicians had done their jobs to protect the city.

He is one in a million. A hero just for having the guts and fortitude to take action and stand up to defend a local town being torn apart and burned to the ground. Most people are all talk, but not him. What he did is seriously heroic.

Bonus points for taking out the evil vermin attacking him and for insanely good marksmanship under duress. I don't care what anyone says, that was video game level sh**. Perhaps just dumb luck, but he even cleared a jam during the heat of it. I put myself in that situation and there is a very good chance the liberals kill me or beat me into an unconscious bloody pulp. A lot of navy Seals would have trouble doing what he did in a non-wartime scenario such as Kenosha. He basically survived a zombie attack, but these were the types of zombies that move really fast. Blown away every time I see his baby face.

To me when you start leaving your home with gun looking for a fight you're in the wrong, maybe not legally but still asking for trouble and going to get it like this guy's current situation in trial

It's the same as someone breaking into my truck in my driveway. Could I run out there and shoot them while they're digging in my console of truck? I suppose. Am I going to spend thousands of hours of my life dealing with it and possibly ending up in jail? Yeah, so there's no ****ing way I'm doing it.

He's no hero, not sure why he's getting the hero treatment on this forum and others. Just a dumb kid who put himself in a bad situation.

Legally it doesn't matter at all. One can make stupid choices and but that doesn't mean you forfeit the right of self defense.

This is exactly what the left wants- and insurance doesn't cover riots and the like much of the time. They want to destroys peoples livelihoods and property with impunity. Why do you think they're foaming at the mouth at the one case where someone defended themselves?

And F the dumb sh**, people ABSOLUTELY SHOULD stand together to defend their communities from violent destructive hordes. Are we really even asking if the good guys "should have been there"? Laugh in the face of anyone who poses such a light weight question.

This was the fallacy of putting Kyle on the stand. It gave the prosecution a whole day to keep repeating and insinuating that Kyle shouldn't have been there in the first place.

The law enforcement agencies could've prevented the looting and rioting but chose not to. You can't prevent people from being idiots.

This and other code words said in trial thread are made to appeal to jury to use emotion instead of facts for their decision. Media uses all the time. They are all POS.

As shared on the news last night, the Trump administration offered the National Guard up to help control this entire deal and the governor said, "No thanks."

People need to be directing their ire towards their own state and city officials for doing nothing when they could have.

His father lives in Kenosha. He lives with his mother in Antioch, IL, roughly 30 minutes away (if you drive like a p***y). He has spent tons of time in Kenosha, even holding a job there. These are both his towns. LOL. NEXT.

Go get your next talking points from Rachel Maddow and build back better. We're waiting.

I've been very vocal he shouldn't have been there. It wasn't a smart thing to do. Especially with no training, no plan, and little to no organization.

None of that precludes him from being able to defend himself.

So then why did Gage drive further than Kyle armed with a g20 glock?

There's no law stating "you can't leave your home town" at least not yet.

Something I found out just this morning. Rittenhouse's dad lived in Kenosha. Between that and his working there you could argue that it was his town. I would further argue that it doesn't have to be if there is a public crisis. Should the Cajun Navy stay within the Louisiana border?

Also, there is a huge difference between a lone sneak thief breaking into your vehicle and city blocks being put to the torch. Your example is a weapons-grade non sequitur.

He's most definitely a hero, although he never set out to be one and probably doesn't consider himself one. He has exposed so many people as shameless ideologues that care more about power than the truth. He had every right to be there. He had every right to defend himself. Had he never been assaulted by leftist thugs you'd never know his name.

I've served in Iraq and didn't kill a single terrorist. Yesterday people called me a hero and gave me a free meal.

Rittenhouse killed two terrorist thugs and wounded a third. He's more of a hero than I am.

You are both heroes. He may have more terrorist "kills", but you signed up for a long term commitment and answered a very big call.
