That's actually funny once your figure what's going on…
Did you note his title "Could this be a Red Blue Scenario ?

Texans and Georgians in a cussing match with Yankees from the NE with a strong 'Brooklyn' accent. It would be hilarious. ....Until the cameras arrived and showed a bunch of dead Americans. I wonder if those guys are with us this morning.

Out of fear of Putin's nuclear threat, we are going to stand by while Ukraine cities are starved and Zelensky and his family are murdered. Nice

No. Never. Just don't want to cower before thugs. If we can be bluffed by nuclear threat, we are done. Carry on.

And here's the rub. In all scenarios of all out war, America will have to decide if its going to launch a nuclear counter strike.

So lets say Putin uses a tactical nuke tomorrow on Ukraine. What does the west do? 99% chance we do not respond with a nuclear response. Why would they? Someone at the executive branch is doing the math. Ukraine just got one nuke, if we respond anywhere in russia with nukes, they'll launch all of them.

So then it becomes a decision: do you throw the whole world away or just accept russia sent a nuke in ukraine?

Putin is going to show you can get extremely aggressive with nuclear weapons before the west will respond. MAD doesn't work if the other team doesn't believe you will counter with overwhelming force.

Big difference between tactical and strategic nukes. Tactical nuke launchers can be taken out. And we have very powerful conventional weapons. They already know it is suicide to go strategic. We are done if the threat of nukes castrates us.

Kurds are now supporting Russia, video here

Quote:

PKK leader Duran Kalkan on Ukraine-Russia Belligerent State:
"There is no government in Ukraine. It's a puppet for imperialism, a gang. They now pay for their actions. The anti-imperialist fight needs to be strengthened."

Ironically, the major ally/branch of PKK in Syria is Armed and supplied with weapons by US & NATO

Kinda interesting given how much we have supported them recently.

If Putin was to use a nuke. I think the best thing after that instead of destroying all of Russia is go in and assassinate him.

If that is an option, assassinate him now. Pretty sure that all of his butties don't want to commit suicide

4 tankers airborne tonight UTC +2. One leaving AO so may have been 3 operational but certainly some overlap. I sure pray they are feeding aircraft actively engaging the invaders.

This nuke discussion is simple.

Russia is NOT going to ever use a nuke. This is why the term is "mutually assured destruction". Putin knows that if he uses a nuke, Russia is done.

Its like the person that holds a gun to the head of a hostage while about 10 other guns are pointed at him. "Back off or I will shoot this hostage"

"Go ahead buddy. Shoot the hostage. Then we will plug you with about 100 bullet holes"

Putin is holding a hostage and telling the West to back off.

Its a bluff and we should call him on it. NATO and the US should destroy all Russian forces in Ukraine.

It's nothing at all like that.

You forgot the large gang of hostage takers that will return fire and shoot the hostages and also your rescue force.

The question is does Putin care more about himself than his country.

Most assume if Putin thinks the west will take him down he's going to attempt as much damage to the west on his way out, even if it hurts or destroys his country.

We cant give in to every threat, but at the same time we have to be cautious and tread lightly

This is not a bluff. Will he use city busters? No. But stated public and planned use of tactical nuclear weapons is not a bluff. If NATO got directly involved it would likely be an immediate use of tactical air launched cruise missiles against US positions in Poland in the first several hours. Possibly in the Baltics as well.

Full strike or counter (nuclear) force attacks are not an immediate thing. But this IS part of their doctrine.

If the US and NATO engage with conventional weapons, even if it is just Air Power, the Russians will be decimated in Ukraine.

It will still be up to Putin to decide if we wants to go nuclear.

---

This scenario will never happen because West politicians are easily blackmailed (personally and politically) to leave Putin to do what he pleases. I'm sure Putin has the goods on Biden and others. That is why the response from the US has been what it is.

It's a bigtime bluff. They can state all day what they would do, but it's clear they would not.

Putin would only use nukes if Russia was invaded (and he thinks it's his best option). The US could have F-22s/35s blow up tanks in Ukraine all day long and Russia would NOT nuke. As that would be vastly worse for him than otherwise.

It goes from being bad for Ukraine to being really bad for a much larger number of people. The risk is great. We shouldn't underestimate our opponent.
