EU to Advance Ukraine's Application for Membership
The European Parliament on Tuesday voted to move forward with Ukraine's application for membership in the European Union following an emergency appeal from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier this week.
The vast majority of representatives 637 voted to accept Ukraine's application, according to Bloomberg News. Just 13 voted against and 26 representatives abstained.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said after the vote: "Today the EU and Ukraine are already closer than ever. There is still a long path ahead. We have to end this war. And we should talk about the next steps. But nobody can doubt that a people that stands up so bravely for our European values belongs in our European family."

Aiming at the elderly, children and women, Russian invaders fired a Tochka-U ballistic missile at Mariupol. The enemy used a cluster warhead – a vicious munition, designed to cause widespread injuries, that's banned by international humanitarian law.

Seeing reports, and General Petraus mentioned this, that Russia miscalculated with the weather and thought the ground would still be frozen enough to drive their heavy stuff over without having to use the roadways as much. A lot of their stuff is getting stuck in the mud and they are having a horrific time maneuvering in the terrain. The mud from the snow melt was mentioned before the invasion even started as a reason for the timing of moving in. They had a deadline to be able to use the terrain, and they missed it.
They are pretty much road bound right now.
If Ukraine could get more drones in the air they could wipe out so much.
The downside is that everyone is road bound. Supplies, equipment, reinforcements for Ukraine are going to have a difficult time getting anywhere.

I don't think it's that big of a secret. Ukraine just likely doesn't have assets in that area to take them out, unfortunately.
It's also possible that a lot of those trucks are completely empty. Could all just be a big show of force bluff.

It's no secret, we know that, but you would think there would have been strategically placed artillery or IUDs to inflict as much punishment as possible

This battle is very clearly costing Russia more than they bargained for. Even if they control Ukraine in the end, they may win the battle, but lose the war. The losses to their military, morale, and economy may far outweigh the expansion of territorial control.
