Eating at the In and Out in Denton right now

It's good enough

WTF do you guys expect for food that is prepared in two minutes for under ten bucks

Their fries are shockingly bad. Burgers are fine if you order them off menu.

I still laugh about when they first came to Dallas and we had some girl from California literally crying on the news about them opening here.

Good for them on this policy.

I thought they were going to make a real stand and stop putting thousand island dressing on their burgers.

Fries on par with any other burger joint is all I'd ask for. Like I previously said though, they nailed it on the burgers.

Dang it - I thought I was going to see some dude give it to a chick based on the title.

I don't get all the In-n-Out hate. Their food wasn't the best when they opened in Texas at first, but they've improved dramatically after working out the kinks. Love their fries BTW.
Eh. The fries are like Styrofoam unless you get them Animal Style, which isn't even on the menu. I pretty much loathe it when a place has a "secret menu" or "hidden menu" or whatever. Put the good stuff on your menu. And don't get me started on the huge chunk of onion the put on their burgers. I'm not big on In-n-Out. At least, not in Texas. When my family was in Monterrey 2 years ago, we tried it and found it was much better than Texas. Not sure what they do differently there, but it is better. It's still not Whataburger, but much better than the In-n-Out we have here.

Dude, the big slice of onion they put between the two beef patties is the best thing about their burgers.

I love this message and have always enjoyed their burgers. The only thing that kills me, is you can't get bacon.

Would be ironic if the 'Whataburger' of California ends up having to leave California in order to survive and hold firm on it's principles.

I am thinking Texas would be their new corporate headquarters too.

Spent last weekend in Big Bear, CA and was surprised how little masking there was. Most of the employees were maskless, iirc. Very much seemed like there the same urban vs rural split in CA as we have in TX.

Whataburger isn't Whataburger anymore, anyway.

May be my imagination, but I think their quality has not survived the takeover.

Whataburger food is crap vs In-N-Out unless you have to have chicken. ALSO In-N-Out flows almost as well as Chik-fil-A while Whataburger is a parking lot.

I was at a pumpkin patch / kid stuff activity last weekend in LA. Mask requirements posted everywhere. Actual mask wearing < 50%. FWIW.

In-N-Out is overrated by folks who like the "secret menu." It's OK, but, given a choice, I'll take Whataburger 10 times out of 10. And, no, that's not just based on Texas stores - I sampled some when I was in California in July and found no difference.

Good for them standing up to the mob.

If you read her story, it's crazy how she ended up owning 100% of In 'n Out. One owner dies of an overdose, one owner dies in a plane crash, only grandchild of the founders, etc.

Plus, she's had a crazy life, three marriages and then appears to finally get her stuff together. She is not a liberal democrat BTW.

Personally, I feel sorry for her. Anyone who is a billionaire and in the public eye has crosshairs on them. Not figuratively, but she has no anonymity.

They are both better than most fast food burger chains. By far.

Good for them for standing up against this government persecution. I didn't know a California based company was allowed to do that

Fair enough. And its obviously anecdotal but there was like <5% in Big Bear and very little signage. I was a little taken aback how different it looked even compared to Dallas where many places are still kind of faking it. Zero f's given in Big Bear

Urban rural has been the biggest divide for a long time. Look at the red/blue election maps by county.

If first learned summer of 1977 training in Schenectady, NY. Rural folk absolutely no different from Texans non-urban folk.
