Before every semester at ASU online they have a mandatory program you have to sit through to remind you how to use the online functions.

As they were giving examples of conversation that are had in the discussion forum they used the following example.

Even a fairly conservative university like ASU is taken over.

How is that an example of CRT permeating some facet of higher education? Maybe a little more context would be helpful to illustrate that.

It's pushing a narrative that is incorrect portraying blacks as victims. The person said most of the time villains are played by black people. That is clearly not the case.

This is a refresher on how to use the online system for classes and 'netiquette' and they drop a random example about the systematic portrayal as bad people, and you don't see the connection?

It is similar to saying that oppression and systemic racism exists in America and not supplying examples in support. No one calls these people out on this. I sat through a high school Thesis, "Should the Church Engage in Social Justice". This kid stated during his thesis that oppression and systemic racism occur in America. I'm thinking that he just teed up a ball high for the two people whome he had to defend his thesis to and that they would hit it 400 yards. However, rather than asking him to cite examples of oppression and systemic racism in America, they completely gave him a pass on the statements. Ooooh, a new thread!

That certainly helps me understand where you are coming from with this. Thanks.

As to whether I see a connection.. I'd say most consumers (including yourself) will recognize that this is an example of an opinion, and wouldn't be reading it as fact. Additionally, they also likely know that this content will resonate positively with their audience. I see it more akin to marketing.

CRT is an opinion and yet it finds its way into curricula.

I would be a little offended if I was part of the Luke Cage Marvel superhero series that featured an all black cast playing both good and bad characters that came out two years before Black Panther.

Luke Cage never gets any respect.

Typical foolish activist. Is trying to compliment and remark on some features of something, then has to insert an invented narrative lie, Chris Wallace-like, into the description.

Most of her paragraph was making sense, including the variety of black people and cast, and it did make the move interesting. But then she has to invent a victim narrative which this thread is now debunking.

The last paragraph is black victim-hood, but is generally just pro-black.

It doesn't lay all of the world's problems at the feet of whites like some of the CRT propaganda.

Exactly. You said it better what was trying to say. The write-up is actually most neutral to good -- she just had to ruin it with the Wallace moment.
