1) Why was Noem's daughter's license denied? Was it out of political spite? Was it legitimate?
2) The woman was 70. What does state law say about forced retirement of state employees?
3) Was this the only example of the woman denying applications that was "troublesome"? Was there a pattern of behavior?
4) Was Neom's daughter on her way to getting certified with the APA or another appraisal designation? (As a valuation professional, I think that state regulation of appraisers is, frankly, a government over-reach, and the industry can police itself.)

This woman could have been using her inflated government powers of appraisers inappropriately, and needed to be removed from her position. She's late into her career, and could easily have started to get petty. Until there is more information, it's just political smut.

The settlement is pretty small, and could be more about making bad press go away than about settling an actual discrimination suit, which could likely have been worth a lot more if it had merit.
