Don't you get a vaccine to protect yourself? Isn't that what a vaccine's purpose is?

Stepping aside from the Faucci hate…he's right. Winter will be a tough period for respiratory viruses in general, as it always is, and many unvaccinated people will catch it, some will die. Water is wet, man bites dog. This shouldn't be a bold controversial claim.

The real question is what does it all mean and what should we do about it? You as an individual, for heavens sake get the damn vaccine and don't die. Put on a rubber when you get some strange, wear a seatbelt when you drive, and no land wars in Asia.

Public policy should be to do absolutely nothing, take the L on "defeating" this, whatever that means, and move on with life accepting a slightly higher risk of dying compared to no Covid, but not enough to live life scared. Open it up, take off your mask, and move on.

I'll caveat this that in isolated situations with hospitalizations and body bags out of control, I don't mind local authorities temporarily shutting down public gatherings until health care capacity is restored. This should be done locally and specific to local conditions, not a broad mandate.

No thanks. You'd be better off telling people to get off their fat asses and walk a mile everyday than taking Fauci's magic juice.

I support both living an active lifestyle with a healthy balanced diet and getting the vaccine. Both are recommended to maximize your odds of extending life. Bad news is that on a long enough timeline, survival odds drop to 0.
