According to John Hopkins University my chances of dying of COVID are 0.2 to 0.8/1,000,000. Which is less than the odds of dying from a lightening strike. So remind me again why I need to rush out and get a new vaccine?

Strange. I haven't heard of that many people dying in a lightning strike which seems also interesting enough for acquaintances to mention if it happened to someone they knew.
Jesus this is dumb. Let me help you here. Not everyone's risk is the same. Each person's risk is age dependent and co-morbidities. Infact most people who die with COVID are over the age of 60 with 2 or more co-morbidities.
So the risk of a 30 y/o in good health is not the same as the risk of someone who is 80 with COPD, cancer and hypertension.

If you would follow the like I provided from John Hopkins it will help you estimate your risk.
Did I refute any of that? Reading isn't your strong suit is it?

Know one person that died from a lightning strike. Also saw 2 people in a boat struck and killed by lightning on Lake Fork.

I don't know anyone that has died from covid.

The seatbelt analogy is weird. They don't take your car or not treat you if you get in an accident whilst unbuckled. There's also not a dismissed database of hundreds of thousands of adverse events caused by wearing one. There are also no safer and more effective alternatives, unlike w/ the vax.

Every time I hear a jacovid witness completely ignore the superior role of natural immunity and then use hell fire and brimstone tactics to convince me to take something that has no impact on transmission yet could also potentially (though RaReLy) inflame my heart, all the while completely oblivious of the unprecedented level of global tyranny happening concurrently, I will go that much further.

Do you go generally play around outside during electrical storms? Or do you take precautions?
Yeah, I also don't run around maskless in a COVID ward.

The point you fail to understand is there is also risk in taking the vaccine. Ideally, if my risk of taking the vaccine is lower than my risk of dying of COVID I will choose to take the vaccine. Since the vaccine is new, and there is no longer term data AND my risk of dying from COVID is damn near zero I choose not to get the vaccine till I can make a better educated decision.

If I were 60 with multiple co-morbidities then my risk assessment equation would be different. It's not, so I'm not vaccinated.

You would think that the "follow the science" crowd could understand this simple risk calculation.

No worries. I'm just thinking of the 3-4 people I've heard about from friends and family that died of covid. I haven't heard of anyone mentioned by anyone I know dying from a lightning strike, although I know someone who was hit twice.

I do not ever wear a seat belt when in an automobile. I get to determine the risks that I am willing to take.

This is just stupid and careless
I live life carelessly Bo Darville. Why else would I have volunteered to deploy to Iraq 3 times with Blackwater?

I get to decide what risks are acceptable to me, not the government.

The seatbelt will just trap you so you burn to death.

Or drown.

I don't wear a seatbelt for fear of drowning or burning to death. Surely blunt force trauma would be less painful/quicker. F anyone who supports government mandating seatbelts or shots in the arm.

Do you go generally play around outside during electrical storms? Or do you take precautions?

And given the precautions people take to not be electrocuted (e.g. not playing golf during a thunderstorm), the odds are STILL more likely he'll die from a lightning strike than COVID given his demographic.

Re-read that.

Then stop saying stupid things.

I was thinking that this poster, and his obsessive level of posting, reminded me of the Bo Darville/Bayside Tiger character who basically didn't want us to leave our house during the start of covid and then had some sort of Come to Jesus moment where he was then bleeding all over the board lamenting his trusting of the "experts", but seems like he has his new thing to obsess over until reality slaps him in the face again...

Yes the virus is the eternal damnation he must save humanity from at all costs and the vaccine is the holy water. Fauci is his high priest. He is here to spread the gospel and convert. All other paths to health are freedom are heresy.
Also the kind of soldier who would show up proud on orders to forcefully inject his countrymen with a mystery cocktail while ironically bragging about how's he's been overseas fighting for our freedoms lol

People reacted the exact same way when seatbelts were mandated to be fair.

They don't insert the seat belt into your body. It's taken off after every ride.

The seat belt does not interact with your immune system, cells, organs, platelets, RNA... The seat belt manufacturer can be sued if the seat belt is faulty... There are seat belt exemptions for some cars.

You might occasionally get a traffic ticket and pay a small fine as a consequence. You don't lose your job, or blocked access to food, banking, society, new employment, etc.

These are not comparable principles, in logic or legally.
