Just caught the tail end of this story on TV.

It was pretty obvious there was little to no chance they could find the "planner" in such short order. Besides, the whole "planner" narrative doesn't even make any sense. It's not like some elaborate 9/11 scheme was pulled off. A random jihadi strapped a bomb to his chest and walked to the gate and blew himself up. Not exactly something that requires a ton of "planning".

That's a $30k car with today's used car prices... how did it find its way to that third world **** hole, and how was that funded?

It was planned. We watched those responsible for at least two days before it happened. We watched and did nothing.

A drone operator saw someone filling up containers and loading up a car. Someone made the decision to take him out, unlikely at the Presidential level. They were afraid of a car bomb attack and thought they saw a guy getting ready for one.

Absolute cluster**** and a prime example of why doing counterterrorism without intelligence assets on the ground is going to be incredibly difficult. We don't have good ground-level insight in Afghanistan anymore.

In this case, possibly a charity vehicle provided by a 3rd party.

In many cases, corruption. 25% or more of Afghan GDP was bribery/corruption transfers of US cash and assets. A lot of fancy vehicles driving around Kabul. One of the many reasons the Afghans didn't show a whole lot of interest in trusting their government and didn't put up much of a fight.

For Biden this is just another series of war crimes.
The biggest war crime is using illegal immigrants to spread COVID throughout the country. Germ warfare is a serious war crime.

After spreading the disease so that cases increase, he has the gall to dictate that you get a vaccine or starve.

Arming terrorists, leaving Americans and those who helped in the hands of terrorists is just treason.

Under current ROE on soft urban targets only the POTUS or SECDEF could have authorized that drone strike. So either Biden or Austin pulled the trigger on this.

Once it leaked, 48 hrs later, that they had been tracking the original suicide bomber that that clacked off a 25 pound vest at the Abbey gate and the request to engage was denied, and the media was in a frenzy for retaliation, they scrambled to hit something, anything with an R9X because it has less collateral damage with soft urban targets. Biden still had the stench on him for his reluctance to hitting UBL in 2011. So just before the Coffins of the 13 arrived at Dover they fragged a civilian and his wife and kids.

Immediately Zabiullah Mujahid says Biden killed civilians, and Biden's people are Blaming the Taliban for the targeting coordinates. Biden's people claimed there was a secondary explosion that took out civilians but their relatives next door claimed there was no secondary explosion.

They just screwed up, fragged a friendly and then claimed the Taliban tipped them off to the target. Just another FUBAR in a long list of them in this entire fiasco. My guess is Austin will take the fall for this and he may have given the order to engage but he'll just return to his pension life.

1. No one will take the fall for this. It's how they operate, and why they'll keep having disasters like this; no one is ever held accountable.

2. Finally, a really good piece of investigative journalism by the NYT. I didn't think they had it in them.
