From Vet Med:
Texas A&M University is requiring face coverings inside the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH), but not in its classroom buildings (although wearing a mask is highly encouraged).

The mask requirement has been implemented to maintain the safest clinical environment possible, and is based on the need to maintain the essential functions of the VMTH and its core missions of patient care and instruction.

Sounds like they need to have discussions with a few of their profs about the difference between "highly encouraged" and "required", with an admonishment that threatening to exclude students from the classroom and to punish them professionally falls way too far into "required" to be consistent with department and university policy.

Nothing will change. They know they will be covered. I had hoped the new president would get rid of the woke Dr Cornell but it looks like they will cover for them. I feel bad for the students who's entire view of the college will be forever tarnished.

If anything this will embolden them because they know they have top cover and their power grabs will just get worse.

Howdy- I'm one of the students being forced to wear the cults religious garment. I've sent three messages to the Paxton mask mandate tip line and heard nothing back. Thanks for your efforts to shed light on this situation

I don't think there is a higher population of wokesters anywhere on earth outside of TAMU CVM… leftist politics have been a central cultural theme from the majority of the students and faculty for all of the 3.5 years I've been here, it's non stop. Anybody who doesn't believe send me a PM and I will share details that will shock you. If you are a traditional American who can still tell boys from girls DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO THiS SCHOOL.

Well, no one is sure but it seemed to subside when we masked and shut down. I don't want to shut down so let's do one of the two now that it is peaking! I believe that is what the hospital is trying to do! Have you ever seen a mask in a clinical setting that was not a N95? Must do something

Nonsense.

N95s, properly worn and used, do something, though not much

No other masks do anything. There is no evidence to suggest otherwise. The most recent study out of Bangladesh is the closet to making some sort of evidence for surgical mask, but it was mask + social distancing.

Add in the way people actually wear the mask and there is really no affect.

The virus is seasonal. That is why you see the trends you do across varying policy prescriptions.

Spring ISD all masks---low covid
Humble ISD no masks --high covid. Son's school, no mask policy, tons of covid.

MASKS WORK. Been wearing masks everywhere I go, and I still haven't gotten covid.
Also vaccinated fully since April, and will get my booster.

Why wouldn't masks work? N95 blocks everything, Surgical will block almost all large particles coming out of my mouth that contain covid. Go breath on a cold day and watch the mist and how far it goes, put a mask on and it won't go nearly as far. Simple basic physics.

Your anecdotes are fine, but the statistics clearly say masks don't work.

I have NOT been wearing masks anywhere I don't have to and I have also not contracted COVID. You doing the same with a mask means literally nothing.

Virus cells are far smaller than the gaps in even surgical masks.



Even the CDC admits masks don't provide any real protection.

N95s do not block everything. Even N100s do not. The virus is small enough it can and does get through them.

It gets through other kinds of masks even more.
