A sad read from Dana Perino. I remember when she introduced this dog on the set of The Five. Doesn't seem like nine years ago already. Died of cancer kind of out of nowhere.

Watching her over the years you knew of Jasper. And you could also tell the love and sincerity she felt for him.

When she was working from home, you could periodically see his head pop up being the couch. Think he barked on live tv once over twice.

And that is a beautiful tribute video.

Vizslas are such loyal, sweet, dogs. They're extremely energetic and vocal at times, but also the best lap dogs and just want to be next to you.

Ours is 7 now. Makes me appreciate the time even more after hearing about Jasper.

One of my friends brought his Vizla trail running with us yesterday. She went a little nuts but it was her first time on trails and she stuck with the group the entire time and was great about not being underfoot. Really fun dog and incredibly sweet.

Always sad when a great dog dies.

My uncle has had several Vizslas. They are wonderful dogs. I have the larger cousin - Weimaraner. It's funny how closely they mimic each other in mannerisms.

Uncle's Vizsla spied a possum on the fence.

Don't give two ****s about jasper.

I love dogs, but Instagram profiles full of ice cream and plane rides of him doesn't do it for me.

Obviously, she needed kids and this was her outlet

Given the world we live in these days, a good dog is not a bad alternative.

Agreed. She appears to be the type to put her career above family and is one of these "dog moms" you see so much of. Its quite sad.

I think she wanted kids, but her husband, who is almost 20 years older than her, didn't want anymore kids.

Lost our boxer to cancer 3 hours after our oldest was born. Still miss that sweet pup. She was a beautiful dog that just loved people and especially kids. She was 85 lbs when she was healthy and could knock adults around with ease if she wanted to, but with kids she was always extra gentle and careful. She'd get so excited around them that she'd run a few yards away, bounce up and down and get her wiggles out safely away from them, and then come back and lick them and cuddle them. My wife was devastated that she never got to meet ours.

I hate cancer. Especially in dogs.

You seem pleasant. There are lots of people in this world that don't want kids or can't have them, and an even greater number that have them but should most certainly not be reproducing.

Why would you marry someone 20 years older than you? Kinda stupid IMO.

I like dogs more than most people. The purity of their unconditional love and steadfast loyalty are equally amazing and admirable.

Perino is looking tired and drawn on her TV show.

Seems to me that the people attacking Dana Perino in a thread about the loss of her dog are the ones with some serious issues.

Kudos to him for marrying a younger girl. And as for her, some people just love each other and get married. Not difficult to understand.

Kicking people when they're down is not an admirable characteristic, that's for sure.

So you love dogs but don't give two ****s about this dog.

OK. So which dogs do you love? Every dog but this dog?

Judging by the outpouring of condolences, the time nearly each show gave to it today, kids making memorial posters, a guy did the rainbow instagram picture, another a tribute video, all indication she must be a hateful old maid who only wants to work and hates kids.

No, I would say its indication she is a nice, professional, brilliant and caring person who had a special dog and developed an incredibly bond. Why not just post condolences or share your own stories.

No need for hateful, judgy comments. Its immature and tacky.

I have two Australian Shepherds, small animals know not to taunt them at the top of a fence, or anywhere in the ya.That possum would be a goner. I can't even comprehend what it would bee own a dog with a short life span. I know it is individual but many Aussies live to age 14 and longer. Unfortunately, even that is not long enough.

Was at a Christmas party at a wife's friends house, probably 40-50 people, Vesla goes ape crap hauling ass throughout the entire house. Dog hits the bed bounces back and continues his hyperness, now former husband , proclaims to all the guests that's the most action that bed has seen in years.
Shoefly!

Boxers are so much fun. Our male would get so excited when I got home he would do the helicopter, complete 360's until he'd get dizzy. It was hilarious. My wife's family were all Weimer people beautiful smart dogs like the Vizlas.
I think the smartest dog we raised was a Black Mouth Cur she got into everything.
