Maybe I'm just not social enough?

I've known quite a few that have had Covid. Most of my immediate family has had it, including parents and grandma, but all were fine with no, or little, symptoms. As far as we know my wife and I still haven't had it.

Quite a few people around our office have gotten it, only heard of one or two that required a hospital stay.

My parents have had some older friends get it and sadly a few of them have died from it.

One friend, early 30s and seemingly healthy, got it recently and was serious enough to spend a few days in ICU, but eventually was released.

None of my family and most of my friends/coworkers are unvaccinated.

My family of 4 all had it. Wife and I were down for 2 weeks.

My uncle died from it. He had had quad bypass three years earlier.

A man I know that goes to my Sister in Law's church died at 50, but he was like 400lbs.

This disease kills people with weak hearts and people that are fat.

I bet a ton of folks got it.

Got over it at home, didn't say anything or get tested.

Most people want no part of this drama and want to be left alone.

This! People get sick all the time. If it wasn't a news story, most wouldn't know the difference.

I know only a handful of people that got it as well. Only serious one was very obese with other health issues, and even he is fine now.

I personally know two people who have had it for certain. Both are fine, never went to the hospital. Might be 1 more, but most likely a false positive. I'm sure other people I know had it and either had no symptoms or very mild ones.

I know one person who had a 90+ year old relative end up in the hospital, but survived.

Of course, every Covidian I know tells me they know of multiple people who have died from it, and lately they all add "are young and perfectly healthy" to the description after their next acquittance dies. I finally started saying to them "I'm glad I'm not your friend/relative because everyone you know apparently dies."
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

If you're old, fat, or both, you probably need to take the shots and protect yourself as best as you can.

If you're not either of the above, then I don't think it's selfish to live life like its 2019, whether you decided to get the shot(s) or not. If you get sick, you will 99.99% recover and then you can be thankful - you now have natural immunity that is much more potent than the shots they're trying to force upon you.
