I believe Trump truly loves this country, but I also believe he's an egomaniac. So it's hard to predict what he's going to do.
I think some of his positives are way stronger. But that Trump paved the way for this type of candidate, so he was necessary at that particular time in history. Especially coming out of the other side of this sh*tshow pandemic and carney freakshow that is the Biden/Harris presidency --- There is an appetite for it. Other GOP'ers better take note.FrioAg 00 said:
But the simple truth is that with DeSantis you get all the same positives, and none of the negatives.
His odds of winning would be much much higher

I am a bit concerned about a head to head of DeSantis v. Trump
I am hopeful they have a strong relationship, and there is a plan to keep this from being an issue
luckily trump is the kind of person to defer the spotlight and attention to someone else
Or forcing DeSantis to have to get into the conspiracy theory/Q stuff that Trump loves. If he can stay away from that, I don't see how the election isn't his to lose (if he runs).SB 43rd STREET OG said:This. Please just let Trump endorse him heavily. The last thing we need is Trump trying to run again and tearing Desantis down and causing some unnecessary divide.Nitro Power said:

I don't see Trump staying in, what he needs to do is run and take the attention off of DeSantis. At the last minute Trump pulls out and endorses DeSantis
Having recently moved from Florida to Missouri, DeSantis is great but there are many Republicans like him, they just lead less influential states. Parsons here in Missouri has been amazing during the pandemic. It took months for states like Florida and Texas to roll back restrictions that were never put in place in Missouri. That said, I'd be all for DeSantis for PresidentJaxson11 said:

I made the mistake of making my way there last weekend, Columbia is now on my do not visit list for the time being.Tanya 93 said:MapGuy said:Having recently moved from Florida to Missouri, DeSantis is great but there are many Republicans like him, they just lead less influential states. Other than him closing all public schools for the remainder of the academic year last spring, I do like how he handled the virus. The vast majority of Missouri is living in reality
Unfortunately, our city council is voting next Monday on whether to bring back mask wearing with the increases from delta and college students invading this town starting this week

Just wanted to be clear that this dramatic decline in Florida COVID numbers began right after schools opened. Do any of the Experts who predicted catastrophe want to circle back? https://t.co/bfgxrMG8jB

We shall see how DeSantis stands up to the constant negative reporting, zero positive reporting, and out and out lies that the MSM will report about him.
Trump had some baggage, but based upon endless unprecedented investigations that found nothing, he probably was the cleanest politician in US history. Much of the Trump baggage was his NY personality, his never backing down from MSM and DNC lies and misrepresentations of the truth, and his being an outsider from the traditional establishment ruling class.
The Democrats found a winning formula for discrediting their competition with Trump. Anyone who doesn't think they will do it again is crazy. If the MSM goes way out of their way to destroy DeSantis, it will be a good sign.

Their vitriol toward him has been white hot since he defeated their chosen Marxist bisexual black chosen future governor of Florida. That he has continued to stand up to their propaganda has only kept he flame as high as possible.
His perseverance to me is the greatest indicia he is the best candidate the GOP could nominate. He stays on message, fights back, is not a communist/grifter, and would be a tremendous POTUS, imho.
