I think we are going to have an economic collapse of monumental proportions. The bond market will collapse and the government will no longer be able to borrow money that they do not print. People dependent on entitlement checks will either get checks that are worth nothing due to inflation or will stop getting checks altogether. At that moment, there will no carrot that the democrats can dangle in front of them anymore. The near unanimous consensus will be "what is the government doing for me anymore?"
At that moment, secession movements will become serious. Even if the feds wanted to stop it they would not have the resources to do so. It will be like conference realignment. States will pick and choose what secession movement to jump into. Some conservative some liberal.
Keep dreaming. You will have to QR code vax status to buy goods. Very soon. I like the idea of secession and I would vote for it. But voting doesn't really matter anymore (as we saw less than a year ago if anyone remember).
The votes will be on a state by state level. And if they are holding a vote at all, that means the ones in charge want secession, and they will do whatever it takes to make it legit including requiring picture ID, fingerprints, or whatever. There would be nothing the feds could do to stop it, since they would be worried about appeasing pissed off federal employees who's pensions are worth nothing among a million other problems.
Just realize that during a depression that is far worse than the Great Depression, things will be TOTALLY different than they are right now.
