Meh, it is what it is. Conference expansion was always going to continue. I wish Texas was going to the PAC12 or BIG, but we can handle them. We've got jimbo.

SEC does not want them

Sips are toxic and the longhorn network is an anchor around their neck.

SEC has said this multiple times.

The sips bring them nothing that they want.

The only good thing I can see about this is that it would be awesome to see the sips faces when they get turned down by the SEC. Specially if A&M gets to cast the deciding vote.

Texas by itself destroyed the SWC and turned the BigXII into the dumpster fire it currently is.

Texas' stupid ass demands is what torpedoed conference realignments years ago. Most of the people in control of this process were around to see it back then.

The SEC does not need another texas school.

If you think BOYLOL put up a fight to keep us from leaving watch what happens when Texas tries to leave.

I hope you're right, but I think the arrogance of the sec will lead the conference to believe they are too big for Texas to pull that *****

Conference realignment is a game of musical chairs. Texas and OU are the biggest pieces that are looking for a conference. The SEC assures the continued dominance and the title for most desirable TV deal by adding them.

I don't want it to happen either, but this is about money. I will definitely not be shocked if it happens.

What I do not understand is why t.u. would want to expose themselves to a schedule that we face since they have only OU and TCU to worry about.along with Iowa State every now and then.

64 teams in 4 conferences, the Rice's of the world lose again, but choice was ours. Money talks loudest.
4 conference championships, one semi final, one championship game. Lots more of eyes than 64 bowl games.
And really, if guys are going to get paid, it's way it ought to be.
Only thing I would like to see , would be that you had to play all your games within that 64- no mullet games with the guise of "helping" smaller program by letting them come take their shellacking in a body bag game. Put up or shut up.

From what's been reported, I don't think they have formally asked. They are still in discussions. I do agree though that if they formally submit a request to the league for admission, then that means they know they probably are in.

It would pretty much be the end of A&M Athletics having any advantage.

Plus, we'd get to play against sip refs every year.

And within 5 years, Texas would either be running the SEC, or will have burned it down trying to take over.
