Netanyahu has been a good leader for Israel and a great friend and ally to the U.S.

I pray the new leadership stays true to the path he set, and that Israel's enemies don't try to take advantage of the transition of power.

Thats what it says. Guess we'll see

Quote:

Now, after putting up a fight and trying several political options to remain in power, Netanyahu will move aside and Israeli tech millionaire and lawmaker Naftali Bennett, who many describe as more right-wing than his predecessor, will take the premiership.
Israel needs a strong and smart leader now more than ever

Gain power by any means necessary
Seven and three are ten, not only now, but forever. There has never been a time when seven and three were not ten, nor will there ever be a time when they are not ten. Therefore, I have said that the truth of number is incorruptible and common to all who think. — St. Augustine

I feel like it would take a lot of research to dig through the noise to figure out what is really going on there. The media drive to portray Jews as the bad guy makes it really hard to translate their articles into reality. Is he actually right wing, or is it some confluence of "right wing is bad and Israel is bad and our definition of right wing is anything right of George Bernard Shaw." I'm not fluent enough in the politics of the region.

Interestingly, Bennett will be first Israeli PM to wear a yarmulke.

Demolishing the temple mount should be the first action, then eject the Jordanians squatting in the Gaza strip.

Bennett will immediately be the most right-wing leader of any major economic/technological power in the world. He's an ardent nationalist, a practicing Jew (as opposed to Netanyahu) and ha supported policies towards the Palestinians that Netanyahu thought were too extreme.

I'm terms of standing up to the regional Islamic powers I don't think you have anything to worry about. If anything he's more likely to ignite a major conflict than his predecessor was.

This would almost certainly kickstart a sequence of conflicts that ultimately draws in Turkey, SA, Iran, Egypt, Pakistan, India and who knows where it heads from there. Discretion may be the better part of valor here.

After so many decades, it would be nice to see something like that happen, if for nothing more than for there to be some kind of end to the back and forth that for years now has seemed more for political theater than to actually going all the way.

I say that with the caveat that the U.S. is not involved in any way, shape, or form. We've got better things to do with our resources.

My understanding is that one of the coalition partners is an islamic group. So he might be super conservative, but I would think that the islamic group would neuter him. Since they can bail from the coalition and collapse the government. At least that is my understanding. If I am wrong, let know.

Why would he demolish the most sacred site in Judaism? How about just rescind the control they've given to the Arabs since it's clear there's no concession short of the annihilation of the Jews that will satiate their hatred.

I hope Israel is in good hands after 12 years of strong leadership. I guess we will see how it shakes out. One thing is for sure though, you don't make concessions to the Arabs. You don't negotiate with terrorists that want you wiped off the face of the earth.

Brazil is a developing country who ranks 83rd in GDP per capita. By outdated Cold War definitions they would technically still be a third world country.

Israel covets Gaza even less than it did the Sinai, which is why Israel unilaterally withdrew from the strip without bothering to extract a quid pro quo like it did with Egypt.

Are you thinking Israel should demolish the Temple Mount to hasten the rapture, or would that just be a happy coincidence for the Jewish folk in the region as part of their demolition endeavors? Might as well send them Third Temple architectural plans so they can get kraken.

Even if they are liberal, surely they see that appeasement ultimately means self genocide or subjugation.
