Here's the headline blaring out from a story in The Hill: "TV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines donate to campaign against critical race theory in schools."
The piece notes how the couple, known for their show "Fixer Upper," donated $1000 to the campaign of Shannon Braun for the school board in the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District. Braun is against the teaching of critical race theory in schools.
Oh, no! What evil people! We must drum them off of cable TV. That's the reaction they seem to be trying to get from folks on the left. As indeed they did.
How many times do these two have to show you who they are?! Stop watching their shows on @hgtv @DIYNetwork & @magnolia. Stop buying their stuff at @Target. Stop supporting people who support racism, homophobia, etc. https://t.co/otDOj9kWz7

There are a few problems with this whole story attacking them, of course.
There's a big thing missing from the headline. Shannon Braun is Chip Gaines' sister. He donated money to his sister for her school board campaign. Framing it as "donating to a campaign against critical race theory" is incredibly misleading.
