This is either pure insanity or pure evil. The resulting economic catastrophe is too predictable for it to be anything else.

Republicans better figure out a way to stop it or we're doomed.

It's time to resume calls for a Convention of States. It's incredibly clear that if the red states don't reign in this government it will destroy the entire global economy which will lead to death and destruction on a scale that's difficult to imagine.

Mitt Romney and Susan Collins are already in favor of it probably.

I'm not saying go full prepper, but my takeaways are:

1) enjoy the high standard of living we are currently experiencing, because it's likely to not last too much longer. I have no idea if it's 5 years or 50, but there is some real disruption coming.

2) invest in some things that are more likely to be durable - like capabilities

I think about my grandfather and everything he taught me about how he lived as a child during the great depression. He had a few acres of vegetable farm, he produced his own wine and honey, he could do all his own woodwork, he fixed his own cars and he hunted. He could also hater all those things with neighbors.

3) it's a good time to have a big family, full of capable people committed to taking care of one another.
