There is ZERO excuse for cuffing an American for posting a meme on social media. It's a blatant violation of his constitutional rights, and he should hire a lawyer and sue the school and the municipality for millions.

I haven't seen the meme, but people seem to have forgotten that EVEN RACISM is protected. Being a racist isn't illegal.

Nobody has a right not to be offended. Racism/being racist is NOT illegal, it is stupid, but not illegal.

If I want to wear a t-shirt with a swastika and confederate flag that says 'KILL ALL N*****S" or "BLM IS N****R TRASH", etc., etc., etc. that is not illegal, you may get an a** whipping (that you could sue over) but it's not illegal. Within the construct of a school setting, no you could not wear a shirt like that to school and I agree with that.

It's ridiculous that a school is creating a group to address anything over something a kid posted online.....

Actually it might get you a public obscenity charge depending on how the state and/or local jurisdiction defines something as obscene. Shirts with the F-Bomb or certain sexual words/phrases can and do get people ticketed so its possible this could too.
