The slur is not included in the police report.

The store's video surveillance system captured the punch, the Times reported.

Leftists are apparently insane. Words vs deadly assault. Words can do many things in the moment but they don't kill you. They are transient and can be dismissed if they are wrong. What you can't take back is an assault that ends a persons life, that takes away every right and dignity they have.

The two aren't remotely comparable.

Absolutely! I have never carried intermediate weapons since leaving law enforcement. If I feel the need to use a weapon, it will always be a firearm.

Those other things, if used, are going to be charged as a deadly weapon anyway, so you might as well actually have one.

I see it all the time. Self defense is an affirmative defense, it does not prevent you from being charged, indicted, or facing a trial. Use of force defense is my legal speciality. So I get to be involved with a lot of wild fact patterns.

Last month, I saw a prosecutor charge "a wall" as a deadly weapon. It was a not guilty, but it still went to trial.

The new thing here, is charging a BB gun as a deadly weapon. So far, juries have not been buying it.

Position is even simpler for next national endeavor: murderers disposed of, violent to work gangs. No exceptions, high income doesn't count either, nor `mentally ill'. That would neatly prevent all kinds of excuses like this being used to enable crime.
