Bethany "Christian" Adoption Services Goes Full Woke

After announcing in early March of this year that they would begin allowing foster/adoption placements in "LGBTQ families", Bethany Christian Services, one of the largest "Christian" adoption agencies in the country announced today "they believed placing black children into white families, was likely much more detrimental to the black child(ren) than continuing to live in a foster care system or waiting to be adopted into a family of the same race". Even the MSM is decrying this "wokeness" as something where the children who are in this system will be most harmed. No word on kids of other nationalities and/or color, and how this fits their "new belief system".

As someone of faith and with MANY friends who have adopted over the years (many with children of different races and ethnicities), and knowing communities of faith typically have the highest foster and adoption rates, I find it pathetic to see a group of this size (and claiming to be "faith-based") engaging liberal rhetoric into something as sacred and needed as foster care and adoption, while at the same time replacing their charter foundations of the Bible with liberal drivel. It's not surprising at all, but very much in line with Dems/Libs not letting blacks "leave the plantation".

CRT at its finest....

So, racism in adoptions too, as if there's something in our melanocytes that broadly dictates the behavioral and cultural choices and preferences we will have. We need to combat this horrific racist ideology.

Remember when we weren't supposed to see color? Other than people on the fringe, no one really argued with that ideal. A person is a person.

But now we're always supposed to see color, and make every decision based on it.

Colin Kaepernick was adopted by white folks. He turned out to be an ass hat.

Maybe they are right.

we're a few years away from them preferring to keep black kids in orphanages than let loving white parents adopt them.

So true, so true!

Sadly, I know a number of Christian families who have bought into the "christian liberal rhetoric" that has overtaken the church the last several years, but have also adopted children of other races. Will be interesting to see where they land on this!!

This should surprise no one.

My non-white children are their WORST nightmare. Black and brown kids raised to be critical thinkers, conservative Christian values, love of freedom and what America was founded on, and all the resources needed to perpetuate it. Calling them names like Coon or Uncle Tom won't bother them either - they are too well founded.

This is just the next attempt to keep all POC on the Dem Plantation.

As a Christian white conservative who has fostered and adopted multiple children, has a non profit on the side specifically geared towards the foster community and donates a ton of time and money to the foster and adoptive community this pisses me off to no end. Children that are in the system are heart broken. There's immense damage that has to be mended over time through consistency and unconditional love. For the children's sake this is the last place for social justice. Allowing agenda driven people pushing lifestyle on hurt impressionable children is a recipe for disaster. Lastly, as a white family raising black children the thought of those boys not being placed in my home because of my skin color breaks my heart just thinking about it.

The foster community in Texas is already being flooded by what's happening at the border. The last thing this group needs is a further agenda being pushed and driving more potential homes of loving, caring, selfless, hard working parents away.

I skimmed the article. They don't appear to be saying that black kids can't be adopted by whites parents. Just that race should be allowed to be considered in determining the best interests of a child.

To No Spin Ag when you were asking me for examples regarding a step towards segregation....here is the most harmful one yet. We are regressing as a society.

I have a few friends who have adopted black kids and I can't imagine where those kids would be if not for their white parents.

What a horrific take by a so called Christian group. My gosh. You can't possibly be ok with gay folks adopting whoever (I have no issue with them adopting) and then not be ok with white people adopting black kids.

You know a teenager in foster care is not going to be forced into being adopted by a gay couple if he is not comfortable with it.

Similarly, a black teen who isn't comfortable with a white family is going to be made to be their kid.

ETA: I think the position of Bethany is that they want to be allowed to consider such things.

Then I guess the kids will suffer for it.

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first ... The Bible says there must be a time of falling away, a time of apostasy, and that the son of perdition, the Antichrist, must be revealed before the coming of the Lord and our gathering together unto Him.

The black ones that are denied a home if that home is a quality opportunity for them.

The race is ONE factor that can be considered. You're assuming there's not a black family that can also provide a good home to a particular child.

All else being equal, I have zero issues with the black kid going to the black family in the event there are two competing families (one white and one black). I would expect the same with any ethnic tie breaker like that.

How many times does that possibly happen though? A black kid with two competing families with different ethnic backgrounds must be like winning the lottery. It's not like there is an abundance of married black people out there looking to adopt in the first place.

Actually there are married black couples who are looking to adopt. It doesn't meet the supply of black children who are available for adoption.

Lots of blacks from Africa actually look to adopt American children once they get here and often they're able to provide better than some white people!

And, of course, not all white families are even willing to consider non-white children.

That's my point though. I get the consideration if there is a black family in the mix wanting to adopt. If not, its a stupid consideration so hopefully that isn't what is happening here.

Your post makes you sound like a great god fearing person who cares more about others than yourself. The world needs more people like yourself. God bless you!!
