Tired of their country's culture being subsumed by Islamic immigration, these guys are getting real about their situation. The retired generals obviously represent a lot of the thinking of the officer corps if they are going public with this.

" Twenty retired generals, as well as several serving soldiers, signed the letter which warned that failure to act against the 'suburban hordes' - a reference to the predominantly immigrant population of the housing estates which surround French cities - will lead to deaths 'in the thousands.' "

" The incendiary letter reads: 'France is in danger. Several mortal perils threaten her. Even in retirement, we remain soldiers of France and cannot in the present circumstances remain indifferent to the fate of our beautiful country.'

The retired officers claimed that France was 'disintegrating with the Islamists of the hordes of the banlieue [suburbs] who are detaching large parts of the nation and turning them into territory subject to dogmas contrary to our constitution'."

I'd welcome a military take over here to keep libs from taking over. Problem is, the US military is a bunch of woke libs at the top.

Things are getting serious, should have read Mark Steyn's book 10 years ago.

"America Alone" by Steyn detailed what was happening in Europe 10-12 years ago. but what will happen here.

We spent a couple weeks in France back in 2000. A week in the Paris, and a week in the wine country at a B&B. Climbed Eiffell tower, picniced in the vineyards. I'm really happy we got to see it when we did. There was some news footage on the other day showing what Paris looks like now - might as well have been in the Middle East somewhere. It's an invasion in slow motion.

Funny thing is I am posting this from the Puerto Vallarta-Nayarit Riviera where 10% of the population is American and there few problems of integration/accommodation. Americans in Baja hold fundraisers for local fire departments. Same in Manzanillo, where Americans and Canadians fundraise for local charities.

Good for them, the sooner the better for France. It is definitely falling/has fallen. Good luck getting rid of all of their 'migrants.'

Folks forget though that Europe was and is a highly tribalized/militarized culture, historically. That's not going to go away just because 20 percent or more are muslims now.

If a military coup winds up winning in France, expect a 'surprising' turn of events in Germany within a couple of years. They are closer to civil war than we are, but most don't realize it yet.

Please explain. I was in Germany about a year before the lockdowns started (spring 2019) and I don't recall much tension. Did I miss something?

I've said this a couple times in the last year, but it's true. We need to shelve the French jokes about losing wars and start looking at ourselves.

We're the ones who are losing perhaps the most important war in our history and we seem to be willingly going down that path. The French military and government at least recognize the problem and are willing to confront it without backing down.

IIRC, Germany took in about 600k Syrian refugees. They might be more seriously screwed.

I'm sure the Germans can come up with a "solution" to the Syrian question.

Yes, you did. Note that Merkel's party has been getting slaughtered. The post-cold war faction is breaking up there under the duress of the Turks/immigrants (and Merkel's 'green' energy policies doubling prices are not helping). The afd is not really doing well, and has certainly taken actions I don't endorse/support, but german politics post-pandemic I think will be quite different moving forward as the crime/immigration has hit a critical mass.

Yes, violent crime has been escalating as one would expect. (note the video at the last link).

That's old data. The muslim share has grown in France quite rapidly over the past 5 years.
