This is anti-science, tyrannical bullfeces.

A&M needs to be 100% normal in the fall. And the regents need to insist on it.

That's just overkill of overkill.
They'll have a higher chance of getting killed in a car wreck driving to weekly testing than they will of Covid.

The lefties are irrational fearful of this virus.

I know a left leaning health care worker who has had covid, and has also had the Pfizer vaccine, and is still afraid of living normally, and still thinks masks are needed. It's totally irrational.

As a parent of a fish cadet, I'm telling you guys not to get your hopes up. It was common knowledge that A&M higher-ups wanted the corps shut down this year. Both in the fall and after a "spike" in February. G Ram stood his ground, but this school is led by leftists, just like every other major university in the US. If Ohio State is doing this crap, don't be surprised if TAMU does also.

As I summarized in a previous post, we were in town for parents weekend.
The mask nazis are still out in force on campus. Even when LEAVING Kyle after events like parents weekend review, people are shouted down to PUT YOUR MASK ON NOW. There are still idiotic signs and stickers all over campus "mask up 6 feet apart" , "staying 6 feet apart keeps us together", "face coverings must be in place unless actively eating or drinking", "selfless service means masking up", and my favorite, giant stickers all over the couches in the flag rooms saying "DONT SIT HERE". Worst of all...the number of idiot students walking through giant parking lot alone with a mask, or on a bike with a mask, is more than you would think.

A&M knows it has students and parents by the nose, in that nobody is going to transfer or give up an admission spot because of this. We can ***** and moan and email and make threats, but they know they've got us.

Other SEC schools have full capacity for baseball, we are still at 25%. Alabama was in town for a series this past weekend, parents weekend. You walk by Olsen and see the "sold out" signs, and then see giant holes in the stands. Gorgeous day to go to a game, sorry covid 25%. It's truly asinine.

Given that any state university is an agent of the state, couldn't all this mandatory testing be challenged under privacy rights?

I can see how a private entity like a private school could potentially have some requirement for testing or what have you (although it would be ridiculous in the extreme), but it would seem to me to be a massive invasion of privacy for the state to require on-going testing that is medically dubious (in terms of it being effective and necessary) and permanently recorded by the state.

I think cooler heads will prevail for the fall. Kind of like Ohio State(the big 10) cancelling the football season, and the SEC calling their bluff on it. We won't be at 25% capacity for football, just too much money involved at this point. one year was enough to sacrifice.

When numbers come down to virtually nothing by June, you might see some new updates. Right now, a leftist will keep erring on the side of over regulating / caution, even if it's clearly irrational. Hopefully that irrational behavior lowers as vaccines get up to 60-70% of adults, and cases and deaths drop like a rock. Which they will.

There's no reason, no matter how insane you were before, that you shouldn't be pushing for 100% normalcy when we've had the chance to vaccinate all. Notice I didn't say vaccinate all. Just mathematically had the chance. By august every single person. Adult or child. Would have had the chance. That's 140 days from now, and we can do 3.5 million per day, and clearly not everyone will get it.

Covid will be gone by august(for all intents and purposes, maybe a handful of cases and like 5 deaths a day nationally). I pray to god cooler heads prevail in most cases when numbers plummet.

Who are these cooler heads you speak of? Not many around in my estimation

My son cannot wait to move off campus because of all the Covidians. Some jackass RA turned him in for not wearing a mask when he walked to the bathroom. He got an official warning letter from A&M. He's sporting a 4.0 as a finance major.

This is seriously not going to be tolerated much longer. I love A&M but I love my son much more. We're considering transferring if they continue this charade.

What the hell, that's how someone would get their bike treed, car messed up, or ass kicked when I was at A&M. Rats will not be tolerated.

Proud Texas Aggie here thinking our decision to send our oldest to Colorado School of Mines this fall as opposed to A&M is more and more the right decision. I have to believe a 100% engineering focused school will use logic over feelz when evaluating how to proceed.

Vaccinated students to be test once a month LOL

Theses idiots making up these rules should not be allowed in charge of anything!
IF the Vaccine works... you should NEVER need to get tested.

PERIOD!

That's not how the vaccine works. It has a very high effective rate but it's not 100%, so we continue to test. Happy to help you.

Yankees, buy and large, are not very ingenious or capable of thinking for themselves. This is proof. However, they know how to not let a crisis go to waste. Case in point, this oppressive, idiotic fear of individual freedom, however utilizing a crisis to the max to maneuver a conference favorite, and undeserving one at that, into the College Football Playoffs. Only to have judgement passed on them with extreme prejudice by a team from the SEC.

You'll defend any bit of stupidity. This just proves it's about every last case than letting cooler heads prevail and playing overwhelming odds. It's a waste of time and effort, particularly by this fall

This will be the first test for the new president. Aggieland has had a fairly high positive testing rate. The majority of the students went through the quarantine with NO SYMPTOMS. There were ZERO HOSPITALIZATIONS. The campus should be wide open for students in the fall. NO WOKE - NO WOKE - NO WOKE - NO WOKE !!!
