Just received email from A&M stating daughter's NSC this summer will be virtual. Did nobody plan for masks, social distancing or other safety steps when initially stating it would be on campus? Disappointing for sure.
Wonder if those scheduled for July will remain in person and it is just the June dates?Quote:
Students and one guest will have the opportunity to attend one of several optional campus visit days starting in July. Health officials indicate that by July, as vaccination rates increase, it will be more likely for Texas A&M to host large, in-person events. There is no additional cost for this optional event and one family member/guest may attend with the student. On campus visit days, we anticipate programming from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and participants may choose which programs to attend. We will announce specific dates, a schedule and registration details in early June.
Do you think it would be economically advisable to do it?A1_Ag_95 said:

we paid the same thing last summer for my son's as usual. Only money they didn't make was dorms/meals.A1_Ag_95 said:
Do I think it would be economically advisable for A&M to host an in person NSC? A&M hardly is hurting for cash. This is not a money play.
Because Karens are going to send their kids?A1_Ag_95 said:

we checked on that last year since my son was a fish. Nope. You leave, you lose your spot. You're free to reapply if you wish.cr06gis said:
I feel so bad for current students. I'd be tempted to withdraw and work full time until all these covid restrictions are lifted, then re-enroll. Ofcourse, we don't know if it will ever be the same. Such a beating.

Probably what we plan to do... tired of life being lived scared.aggietony2010 said:A1_Ag_95 said:

Visit campus around the same time, show your kid around, and participate in the necessary virtual NSC events such as registration.
You meet your advisor, register, and get a student ID. Outside of that, it's just indoctrination part 1 (and I'm not talking the good kind involving a&m traditions).

You are insufferable. Let normal people live their normal lives and you can stand with the Karen's elsewhere.

I have never made any statement on the vaccine. I think it is a good idea.Gap said:Tanya 93 said:Good for youA1_Ag_95 said:

Out of curiosity to you deny the vaccine works and we won't have herd immunity in another two months if not even a month before that.
I mean that is the science.
Yup. I was down there seeing my son a couple times this fall on a Friday and the campus was a ghost town, except for the idiots riding a bike around wearing a ****ing mask.highvelocity said:
i was pretty sad to visit tamu yesterday and see it the way it is. the fact that sully is fenced off and there was a girl sitting at the front of evans library telling people to wear a face covering is ridiculous.
This sure is NOT the way to get those folks to give those dimes again.Quote:
I think A&M cares about costs because of "not another dime."
