Wow what a badass! I'm sure the checkout clerk gave you a complimentary cookie for such bravery. Maybe you got applause from all the employees on your way out too.Muy said:
Too icy to go home and get one, so went in. Hadn't gone to a grocery store without one on since last March, so it was definitely in my head that I was breaking some type of law.
Nobody said anything, and it felt great not hiding behind a useless mask. Definitely a Dear Diary post, but my point is that - while we should recognize and respect that others are living in fear still - it may actually benefit others if more people started going out and about without any masks and show these others they are living in a lie.
Damn, can't imagine what that is like. Here in Houston it's probably 95-99% compliance. It feels like 100% but maybe I am missing the occasional non mask wearer. Saw one last week.swampstander said:
I go to Kroger 1-2 times a week every week and have never worn one. Typically there is about 50% compliance.

I was turned away from a Twin Liquors a few days ago for no mask. I have generally been maskless the past six months and that was my first "incident".

Just let people live how they want to live. If you wear a mask. go for it. If you dont. go for it. just dont push your agenda on others or you are just as oppressive as the other side.

Wear them inside out to blow out the virus that it stopped to begin with.Moon Shadow said:
Hell's bells!!
Most people (that are) wearing masks have them down off their noses.
The mask is loose. Saw one lady with mask on upside down.
Even funnier how it works to take your business elsewhere.West Point Aggie said:DamnGood86 said:

Stores are not public spaces...if they choose to only let people in who wear green shirts, ******ed as that sounds, it is THEIR, store, just like you can dictate how people can behave in YOUR home (and who is allowed in)
Funny how that works, huh?

I haven't worn one in the grocery store since this crap started. A couple of weeks ago, the manager stopped me as I walked in and asked if I had one. Yes, I do...right here in my pocket and I'm not going to wear it. He said they were getting a lot of complaints from other customers about people not wearing a mask. I told him he should tell those concerned shoppers to mind their own business. He gave me a funny look as I walked away.
