The House can impeach for any reason at all. They could impeach a president for not liking hot dogs.

I'm not so sure. The Democrats and their MSM allies will turn the political heat up to full blast and let it be known that any Republican in the Senate that doesn't vote to convict will be labeled a seditionist, attack their ability to raise contributions, and target them in their next election.

Nothing about most Republicans in the Senate gives me much confidence enough of them have the backbone to withstand the onslaught.

Then the emboldened Democrats will go on to cram their policy initiatives down our throats without much resistance. America is pretty much screwed at this point.

You can run for office again after being convicted. One of the current Democrat House members from Florida is an impeached judge.

The Senate can hold a second vote if they choose to ban the convicted from ever holding office again. If they don't hold the vote or the vote fails, then the convicted is freely able to run again.
