Who are New California and New Nevada? If it is what it sounds like -- states trying to sub-divided to nullify the excessive power of blue metros like VA should do to Alexandria, that's great. But is it that??

Just 48 hours now (at most) of this 'overturn 2020 election' drama, before that POTUS election finally goes into the books and the political world moves on to the next phase of its never ending fighting.

So what's the count now with New California and New Nevada? 42 states disputing the election in one way or another?

Opinions by some mainstream conservative types seem to be this was a well crafted legal play by TX and co, unlike some of the other challenges that were filed over last several weeks, but since SCOTUS is not going to want to start an actual Civil War, this attempt will also fail (in terms of affecting 2020) and just a question of exactly how the rejection response is delivered over next couple of days.

The deadline for the four states to respond was yesterday.

There is no deadline for anyone seeking some pub out of this, or just wanting to have their voice on record. I bet there's going to be a lot more filings from random people and groups up through the ruling.

I'm sure we will get some good sovereign citizen filings as well. Those are always fun to read.
Good call.

Edit: The new states filed it as an Amici Curiae, but in the prayer they ask for an "award of costs to this Amici in Intervention". Who exactly is supposed to pay the costs relating to their voluntary friend of the court brief?

Texas? The four swing states being sued? Why not ask the Supreme Court to award post-judgment interest as well? Fun stuff.

Their attorney is a solo practioner out of Pahrump, Nevada with over 46 years of experience according to the first website (Justia) I clicked on after doing a search on him.

There's no picture, so I'm free to picture him as a heavy weight Samoan, Dr. Gonzo.

Go ahead and continue to bury your head in the sand since "your guy" won by all means necessary, even breaking the law to do so.

I understand that liberty is most important, but I'm not sure that people have contemplated what happen in a civil war. Absolute destruction of the economy. Lastly, do you think the leftists are simply going to let this go? Have never studied history and learned what leftists will do to maintain power? They will u leash the full force of the US military upon the revolting states. The complicit world media will not cover the atrocities and will spin the rebels as evil racists, etc.

Are we really ready for this? Maybe people say so, but I don't think so.

At this point, the better solution is to keep electing conservative state and local government.

I understand perfectly what it means. We would go down the Russian Revolution or French Revolution paths or Serbia. It will be an utterly brutal period of history because that's how ideological civil wars work.

Uncharted Territory. A F* election, a media nobody trust, total lack of Transparency. Who knows WTFIGO. But its clear there is serious problems with the foundations.

Actually of all the people I trust regarding the law on this, its is you and Hawg and you are on different sides. Just trying to figure it out but I am not a law guy. I'm a math and software guy and I know that end of things is FUBARed to hell.

Its not looking good. We needs some leadership, not partisan ship. I have always liked your pragmatic approach. Looking to you, bud, for the law end of things.

Yeah the fact that we have lawyers on both sides here lends credence to the cluster**** of the whole situation and just how volatile it really is. From a stability standpoint, we're entering worst case scenario.

It's impossible to pin this on Trump any longer.

This started with the AG of the State of F'n TEXAS!!

We are still clutching to our guns and our Bibles, and we are not going to roll over in the face of fraud so obvious that almost half of the states of the republic are on board.

That's a good point. This is the elites realizing that this was never about Trump for the right and about something much bigger than him. Trump was always a symptom and never a cause, but I don't think any of these people ever really internalized that fact even if they said it out loud.

Part of that next phase will be doing everything possible to continue to put the 2020 election under a microscope, and looking for convictions.

The drama about who is president might go away. But the drama about the 2020 presidential election is going to continue for the next 4 years. Count on that.

Since we are giving import to the clerical function of docketing filings these days I guess that means the Supreme Court is giving weight to their filing.

If it must happen, prefer Serbia. Look at that region today. Alternatively, a French one that fast-tracks extremely fast to 18 Brumaire.or 9 November.

What's going to happen next is this:

1) SCOTUS will deny the motion for leave, or if they do happen to grant it, will deny the relief requested by Texas
2) EC will officially make Biden pres-elect on Monday
3) GOP senators and reps, as well as Mike Pence, will object to congress's certification of Biden's victory on January 6, creating another delay
4) Trump and Pence and i'm sure many GOP congresspeople will not attend Biden's inauguration. Trump will hold competing rally at same time, claiming victory
5) Trump declares 2024 run, and many GOP politicians will not recognize Biden as president for the next 4 years, and this "controversy" will continue to be talked about on right-wing news networks

Excellent question...I don't know...

At some point, it has to come down to this:

Is there clear evidence of election fraud in this election or not?

If there is, then I argue that ANY fraud proven, no matter how benign it may seem, raises doubt about the election as a whole, and if there is any "proven" fraud, then the whole process in each state where some form of fraud is "prove" needs to be thrown out because it is tainted...

Having arguments about "okay, so there was fraud, but there wasn't enough to change the outcome" is the wrong way to look at this...

Any fraud "proven" means the whole thing is tainted, and the results simply cannot be trusted...

If the court finds enough evidence that some fraud occurred, then they need to step in and tell the state legislatures to take action and appoint their electors...

Now, the final outcome might still be the same...so be it...

But it at least takes the fraud angle out of it and allows the law to be used to resolve the issue constitutionally...

If you don't, and you just leave this dangling in the wind, you are asking for trouble...
You might as well do away with elections, then.

It would be surprising if there was no state with fraud that could not be proven.

If a political party expected to lose the election, they could just have someone commit fraud and then they could jump up and down and yell "FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD", have the election thrown out, and go to the state legislature.

No election should be overturned unless the actual amount of fraud is proven to have changed the result of the election.

That sounds about right, except for the 2024 run. I think that premature.

Blame MI for not being able to find voters for the 174,000 ballots it inserted into the election.

But you forgot the part where Trump raises tons of money for election day integrity funds, 75% of which will go towards lobbying at the state level to keep this from happening again.

Trump won the honest vote. Any semi objective person knows that. Dems cheated their ass off. I don't doubt the court will punt. In doing so they should realize the precedent that would be set for basically submitting our nation to mob rule. The Republic is then over for good. Accepting this sham election on the basis we will fix it later is stupid to the infinite power.

Edited to add that Frank Lutz is a moron. Ted Cruz is a much better choice to argue for Texas and the Republic than the Texas Solicitor General, who may feel butt hurt

F16 these days:

"You guys cheated"
"Uh uh"
"Uh huh"
"Uh uh"

"The future of the Republic is at stake"
"Uh uh"
"Civil War is coming, you won't be laughing long"
"Whatever"

And the needle didn't move, and the only actions taken have been more posting about the same. And unfortunately, whichever way SCOTUS decides, this will be the continued trend, one way or another, for the next 4 years.
